Only wanted to play nine holes today. Wife was going to ride with me. Was charged $10.00 for her. When she decided not to ride, they would not refund the cart fee for her, only issued a credit for the $10.00. Will have to make time to go back and play to use this credit. Will not play there again after completed. Note: they never charged for my wife to ride before.
A couple of greens on front nine were in bad shape. Tee boxes 1 & 2 need work. Sand traps around #9 green need work or be filled in.
The WORST Course I Have Ever Played!
I recently played here in a tournament and I can safely say that this is the WORST course I have EVER played! The tee boxes were simply just packed down dirt; they had NO grass. The fairways were basically dirt and crab grass. The greens were very slow and had many missing patches of grass. After the round, I decided to purchase a package of peanut butter crackers and after purchasing them I noticed that they had expired six months ago! I would not recommend this golf course to anyone. It was simply the worst course I have ever played.
Snow
Golf Now needs better communication with the course. We called a couple times before we headed to the course and got no answer. Realized why when we arrived to find 1/3 of the holes covered with snow. No customer service from Golf Now.
We walked the course and it looks like it could be nice. Guess I will try in the spring
Multiple Improvements Have Been Made
My friend and I golfed this course about a year ago and it was in rough condition. We gave it another go and it was obvious the new ownership has put some time and effort into improvements. The greens (with only a couple exceptions) and the tee boxes were in much better condition. The fairways were thick and also well kept. The greens were slower than what we were accustomed to but they were nice. You can’t beat the value.
A must play
Dead shocked. And by "dead shocked", I was puzzled why there weren't more people playing this course the day I did. For TN golf, I'd call it a "gentle" layout. Not hilly. It's in great shape. Greens rolled fair & true. Fairways are not spotty like some tracks. It's a course you can score on. The scenery is fantastic. A river (with a waterfall) runs along some holes. A few holes have small ponds for water hazards. So with all these combined, you owe it to yourself to play it. I drove 45 minutes to play it, and I'm telling you it's worth it.
Really Enjoyed! Would recommend.
Weather was perfect, so that always helps the experience, but really enjoyed this course. Fairways were well kept, greens were okay overall. Staff were very nice. Layout of the course is a little confusing, as it was my first time at this course, I wasn't always 100% sure of the pin location. I'd say a great course for a 20+ handicapper.
I'll play here again.
My first time here. I was very impressed with the layout, and considering the flood damage from hurricane Harvey, the course is in excellent condition. The course is not long, but it's perfect for most of us. Greens are very good, but a bit slow.
There are excellent practice areas and the staff is very welcoming. I will definitely add this course to my rotation.
This course has come a long way in the last year. New owner is making it great again. Love playing here. Its worth the 20 min drive feom nashville to get away from the crowds
Sycamore
Got there as it started pouring so I expected slightly off conditions. There was some water on some fairways which affected drive distance for sure. But other than that the fairways were in good shape. There were a couple greens under repair but it didn't affect any of my shots. Overall it's a fun course that starts out relatively easy and forgiving on the front nine and makes you place your shots more accurately on the tougher back nine.
Fun course, I will be back and it shows they are trying to improve it.
Nice
Very nice course for the money. Very friendly staff and locals. Beautiful scenery of waterfall on 6th hole. Wide open front with game challenging back 9.
BOMBS AWAY, BUT BRING YOUR THINKING CAP
Played this course 8/25/17 for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. The front nine lulls the BOMBER in you to emerge with all the bailouts and room to really let go without too much drama on an errant shot. Then comes the back nine, where right away your drive is suddenly tested with significantly narrowing fairways with danger everywhere, demanding precision with nearly every shot. I highly recommend this course for those who like to be tested, especially the back nine. Friendly staff and a great superintendent who has this course on the mend and looking good. The greens were somewhere between slow and medium.
Great views
Love how the course is engulfed in Mother Nature. Greens were rough and so were aprons.
Nice course
Much improved under new ownership. If you haven't been in the last year gice it another try. They have done a lot of work to improve the course and are still doing more to improve the course.
Impressed with the effort at Sycamore Golf Course
I have been aware of the new management's efforts to revitalize the course but was really impressed with the changes. The effort to improve the greens really stood out to me. I will definitely take advantage of the "pay once and play all day on Wednesdays" promotion the course just began.
Hidden Gem in Ashland City
I love playing @ Sycamore Golf Club. The pace of play is super fast- you can get 18 holes in around 2.5 - 3 hours. Very friendly staff and very reasonable rates. The course has made a nice comeback. Every time I play, it looks better. The holes are laid out nicely and I always have fun. I think the back 9 is a little harder than the front 9. There are a couple of greens on the back near the creek that get flooded and need a little love. My favorite holes are #3 - drivable with a perfect shot, #7 - short par 4 with pond in front of green, and # 11 long dogleg par 5.
