Pinehurst must play
Challenging layout for low and high handicaps. Greens rolled true. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Had great pace as foursome, early tee time. GREAT VALUE for the area. 🌟
Great value
First time playing the course. Fairways were still partly dormant but greens were excellent. Paid $38 which included cart, good lunch and a drink. Terrific value for a course with a lovely layout.
Great Course and Value
On a beautiful spring day we got a great deal on GolfNow.Overall the course is in good condition, greens rolled very good.Course was busy but we played in 3.5 hours.Included with the round is lunch and a beverage.Excellent food.Drive 20 minutes from Pinehurst and enjoy this course.
Nice Layout, Great Value
Challenging layout. Greens were good. It helps to assess the grain otherwise your put will be off line.
Fairways were still brownish but give them a couple of weeks. Carts were in good shape.
Played Monday afternoon and had the course to ourselves. Saw one twosome and one single all day.
Great value!
7 Lakes
Practice range is disappointing, course was in decent shape, greens were slow, staff was great and clubhouse was nice. Priced appropriately for what you're getting.
Beautiful, fun, and friendly
I played Seven Lakes for the first time today after living in the area for nearly four years. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this wonderful little course. The views and layout are excellent and make up for fairways that are a bit rough in places. The greens were being aerated but I’d imagine they play quite nicely under ordinary circumstances. Most importantly the environment is very friendly. I felt like I had the course to myself. The carts are the nicest I’ve seen - plush leather seats and Bluetooth speakers. One round purchased through GolfNow includes a meal, complete with a draft beer!
Enjoyable course
Enjoyed the elevation changes, something you don’t find in Florida. Greens were okay. Great staff! Will go back if we get back to Pinehurst!
Tough track, lots of elevation changes
This is a tough track. A lot of elevation changes, in some holes you fill like you're playing in a mountain course in the Rockies. The course will challenge you if you're not hitting long and straight shots of the tee. The course is very pretty and in excellent shape. There are quite a few carries, especially on the back nine. The water holes are super beautiful. My only recommendation is that if you're thinking of playing here, make sure your game is on point otherwise, it'll be a miserable round. The only negative is that the driving range is atrocious; it seemed like it was an after thought. I do want to play this course again but I want to make sure my game is on point before I do.
Nice course slow play
Nice course, the greens were slower than I expected. The pace of play was horrible. There were 2 foursomes in front of me and another player that joined me. The 2 groups in front were several holes behind the group in front of them. They were there to drink not play golf. This course needs a ranger out there to watch groups like this. First time playing the course, I disappointed.
Great value, but bad conditions
This course is a very long and somewhat difficult course, especially the greens. The greens were fast, difficult to read and not so easy to land shots on. Included with this is not only 18 holes and a cart, but also a free lunch or 2 beers for free. (One offer per person I believe). The downside to this course is the course conditions. The course has crabgrass, the fairway and rough are not well maintained which exposes the dead grass. In certain holes, the fairway and rough are completely indistinguishable.
Recommended? Probably yes
Worth the value? Absolutely
Conditions? Okay
Overall? Great!
6 hr round
Slow slow play, no water on the course to drink 1 drink machine no drinks. Ball washers no water or Mud in washer, did I mention 6 hrs to play. Do the little thi go right. Nice course design. Was hit on twice course by members who knew the pace was slow.
Nice Track
Good course. Nice greens and wide fairways. Only complaint that being our first time, no one told us the 9th and 10th were no where NEAR the clubhouse. So when we were making a turn, starving... we realized there was no place to eat. Only a soda machine. We all agreed it would have been nice to have told is so we could have grabbed our free lunch before heading out.
Loved it. Here's Why:
In a region filled with heralded and expensive golf courses, Seven Lakes Golf Club presented an opportunity to go where the locals play.
I was not disappointed. This par-72 designed by Peter Tufts III in 1976 will never have the pedigree or acclaim of better-known courses in the sandhills. Nor does it have the requisite polish, but Seven Lakes does provide a very satisfying golf experience made even more-so by the reasonable greens fees that include a golf cart and lunch.
That’s fun factor with an exclamation mark, especially when one factors in the course design and execution, beginning with the choice of five different sets of tees.
Rough around the edges? Yes.
Engaging? Even more.
From the 1st through the 18th, every hole is good, challenging, and instantly memorable if not also beautiful in some cases.
The par-4, 261-374 yard par-4, 4th requires a strong tee shot left of a lake, then over that lake to an elevated, two-tiered green.
Many other holes on the course require strategy and also precision in execution. The looped, links design plays uphill, downhill, right and left. It challenges our proverbial, “every shot and club in the bag.” The holes are interesting. They’re quirky. They’re inspiring. They’re blind. Or, they’re all laid out in front of you.
This is a great course for regular folks.
It’s a good round compared with any course, anywhere.
Deserves some love.
