Not for the “faint of heart”
The course is beautiful, in the Smokies so surrounded by stunning views. The greens were definitely not in the best shape - sadly, it didn’t appear that very many golfers cared about repairing their divots. This course goes up and down the mountain. The 5th tee was high up and you hit down a fairway to a cliff edge and, from there, hit down to the green. After we teed off, it started to rain pretty hard. We sheltered briefly beside the cart path under cover of some shrubs. When the rain let up, we hit over the edge… that’s when the terrifying part began. The cart paths went steeply downhill with hairpin turns back and forth. Even in early September there were a significant amount of leaves down on the paths. As we started down slowly as we could with my foot on the brake - the rear of the cart skidded around. The carts have automatic brake locks, so it was difficult to control the speed of descent without locking up and skidding. Definitely not for the “faint of heart” ! If I played here again, I’d definitely only come on a day where no rain was forecasted. It was a fun course with some challenging holes. There are no restroom facilities on the course. The pro shop / restaurant was closed by the time we finished (around 5:45 pm).
Fun in the smoky mountains
The views are wonderful. Make sure you have extra golf balls as you will need them. Fairways are narrow and if you miss the fairways no need looking for your ball. The course was in great shape a few greens were under repair but that is expected with the summer heat. Bring your range finder with slope adjustment or you will be off on yardage especially on the par 3. Staff was friendly and informative. Can’t wait to play this course again.
Little Mountain Gem
The views and elevation changes alone are worth visiting at least once. The course is not long and not too difficult if you keep the ball in play - but the greens are small and if you lose shots left or right, best have plenty of balls along. Some of the greens struggle with damage from damp wet conditions, but overall roll smoothly enough.
Great scenic views
First time I played it. Five elevated tees heavily surrounded by thick trees. Views are awesome. Took many pics. I will definitely be back and for the price I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a challenging course.
Smoky Mtn golf
This was my first time playing in the Mtns. so I thoroughly enjoyed the elevation changes at this course. Awesome up and downs. Fairways are narrow so accuracy is key. The course isn't too long. The fairways were in great shape, but the greens had some brown and dirt spots. We had the second tee time of the morning, but it still took us over two hours just to play the front nine. The staff was very friendly, especially explaining the driving between some of the holes. It can be challenging finding the next hole. I would play here again. It is just a bit pricy for me at $70 a person.
Love Mtn golf!
Gem in the Smokies! Love the layout with its scenic ups and downs!
My Old Home Course
The game play at this golf course is incredibly slow due to the fact that there are no rangers/marshals to keep gameplay moving. The staff at front desk and in restaurant are nice but seem to be stretched too thin. The head owner is an archaic, money grabbing bully while his sons are at the mercy of his hubris and pigheadedness. If you like to play mountain golf come here, but don't become a member here. There are no advantages.
For those of you who don't know, I am an pro (shop) assistant to the Sequoyah National Golf Club, third party to Harrahs Cherokee Casino Resort, owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. I am also a member at SMCC in Whittier NC and I hoped that the owners Mike Cornblum and sons would hear my public plea and address this issue.
Instead, the next time I made a tee time (this past Wednesday) with my neighbor and pastor, I was called into the office and I was asked to remove my review in order play lest I be suspended as a member or banned from the course in general.
If you have ever played this course I would encourage to give your best critique of your experience especially if you had a less than amazing round.

Lovely Smoky Golf Course
What a beautiful place to play. We loved it.
We had only 1 negative experience: twice we lost the way as we did not find the signs for the next hole.
The course was in very good condition ; well maintained.
Condition
This course has no right to call itself a Country Club. Way over priced and resembles a cow pasture. Fairways are horrible, layout is horrible. I understand mountain course and have played my share but this one was absolutely awful. I will not play it again nor will I recommend it to anyone either. $70 is absurd price for this course.
Would Recommend
Fairways are pretty tight but very nice. Greens were in good shape, and the staff was very kind.
I enjoyed it
First the greens are re in nice condition. My only issue were the I repaired ball marks that seem to happen on every course now days. This is a thinking man’s course. There are holes that you can overpower, but most of the time the driver will stay in the bag. The course requires iron precision if you want to score well.
It was hard to find the next hole at times, but there are signs up. You just need to keep your eyes open. The staff explained the layout before I started which also helped a good deal. Very nice staff.
There are no bathrooms other than the clubhouse and no water buckets along the course. Prepare accordingly. I think the price was a little expensive for what it was, but I would play it again if in the area.
Challenging Mountain Course
The course is challenging, yet very enjoyable. The scenery is beautiful. Great way to forget a bad shot, just look around. If the scenery doesn’t awe you, then you have issue. Haha! I’ve played in different seasons and great year round. If I were a local, I’d join. Go play and enjoy.
