We had a blast
I took a group of 6 ladies from Atlanta up to the mountains to play a course near my cabin. We discovered Smokey Mountain and played it two days in a row. It was a unique course and we really enjoyed a few of the drop off holes. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We met a lot of people because the course gets backed up in a couple spots. Make sure you play early (before 11:30) as we had trouble getting carts the second day and teed off about an hour plus after our scheduled tee time. I would highly recommend a visit.
Beautiful views
The only complaint was the tee boxes. Some were in really bad shape. Overall we loved the course and will go back. There was trash here and there which upset me. I can't understand why people will throw a beer can in the woods. Just leave it in your cart or put in the trash cans that they provide!
Scenic Eye candy course
This is my first true mountain course. Most of the holes play up or down a hill. This course has some lifetime memories on several holes. Number 5, I'll never ever forget. several par 3's off the edge! I lost my stomach watch the ball fly up, out and over then down, down, down. you must stay in the fairway on most holes makes it challenging. I ended up with an 81 and found it much shorter than the 6100 Black tees. I guess since a 175yrd down hill shot was only an 8 iron. beautiful course, they do need a tee box sign on 18, to make sure you're going the right way. I ended up going from 11 to 18, but got to play 18 twice! ask the course for a guide. first time players this is a MUST have!
What a view!
The front nine was cart path only due to a lot of rain. I would give the whole corse a 5 if the front 9 was not so wet. Challenging layout, with many views to take your mind off any bad shots you may make. I am planning to make another trip in the spring.
Mountain course for sure!
Well maintained course in Smokey Mountains.
Par 71 with many ups and downs. If you have fear of heights or vertigo don’t play this course! But if you love true panoramic views and an interesting layout this is for you.
Water the t boxes, please
Great day on the course. Not very busy and their membership drive is intriguing. My only criticism is the ground on many of the tee boxes is rock hard. You can't get a tee in the ground. Especially a plastic one. How about watering to soften it up. Maybe some new sod to solve a couple of other problems on those tee boxes. Always a fun course to play.
Short/Challenging Track in the Smokies
Smoky Mountain CC is honestly a hidden gem. I’ve played a lot of golf here, shot good scores and bad....as a lower handicapper (6.8), the course offers challenging tee shots that require placement, solid greens that require good putting, and oB everywhere! However, is short enough that the high handicapper can still go out and enjoy a round with his/her friends and family!
Smoky mountain
Good course with a lot of tricky holes. The first time you play it it’s seems difficult. After a few times it grows on you bc it is such a unique track. One must hit the fairway to play well.
Mama played on mom's day
This is one of my wife's favorite courses and where she wanted to spend some of her special day. Beautiful day and not very busy when we started at 1pm. Was pretty busy by the time we finished 3 hours later.
Overall the fairways and greens were in pretty good shape. The tee boxes need some work, especially with all the rain they've had. Numerous bare spots and not very level surfaces.
For what they charge to play here, there is no excuse for this. Throw some grass seed down or lay down some sod.
Other than that, it is a fun course to play. Definitely worth the drive from Asheville.
Save your cash
This course has a cool layout and some big elevation changing holes. With that said the course it’s self is a train wreck. Go somewhere else
Scenic with a lot of fun
A little wet due to recent torrential rains but still very playable. Lots of elevation changes. 5th hole is a blast. Big downhill with a 200 ft cliff 150 yards from the green.
Really fun course
My wife and I played for the first time 9/21/20. Was a true mountain course. Had a great time, played with another couple we joined up with at a 4:15 pace. Every hole was a new challenge, but not too difficult. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back.
GolfNow
This isn’t really a review of the course, but I couldn’t find anywhere to complain to GolfNow directly. The course is fine, played there before and it was peachy. Good mountain golf course. However, you might wanna check with the course before booking with GolfNow. Booked a round today, only to be called and told that there was no availability due to lack of carts, but GolfNow still had a Hot Deal on it. Then I wasn’t able to cancel the round or get a refund since the course wasn’t playable. The guys at the course said they had had this problem before, and honestly I’m not surprised. This is a 4 star review because the course notified me of the issue and apologized for the inconvenience, the rating goes to the course. Smokey Mtn. CC - 4.5 Stars; GolfNow - 0 Stars.
Awesome course
I always like playing there it's nice place to play beautiful scenery everybody's friendly love the game
Lots of Elevation Changes
Beautiful course and a great layout. Being from south Louisiana, I don’t often get a chance to play a
course with this much elevation changes. It was challenging and a great experience. Looking forward to playing again in the future. Greens were a little bumpy from a recent aeration, but that’s to be expected this time of year. Great staff!
