If there Play it
I won't drive 1.5hrs ever again to play this course but if I'm in the area and for less than $1 a hole I would. The greens were really nice but definitely not short enough. Slowest greens I have ever played. Tee boxes and cart paths were worthless or nonexistent... Sad part is the staff and facilities are great. Really good people and prices. However losing balls in the fairway bc it's like a cow pasture is not acceptable.
Fun time.
Good course - lots of improvements being made...I play there regularly. Very friendly staff
Better hit to the rough
You'd better hit to the rough, because you can't find the ball in the middle of the fairway. Total terrible condition on the fairway, so you can't even find the ball, even if you hit solid shot. Green has lots weeds, which bother you putt.
Never visit again until they fix the course.
Much improved course
I have played this course for several years. The course has greatly improved. The staff has worked hard battling the weather conditions in the area. The great rates and deals that run monthly make it a great place to play for the price.
The worst
While hitting your second shot on 50% on the holes ( par 3's excluded obviously), players are penalized for being in the farways. Crab grass, rock and bare dirt are what you are left with for your approach shot.
The cart path might have been suitable for ATVs because they were non-existant. The "cart path" consisted of broken asphalt or just dirt. Which could have been confused with about half the fairways.
After pay only a dollar per hole, we choose not to voice our disappointment. But wait to write a review. The staff was working hard, but the course was just beat up.
Stoneybrook
Charged me $11.00 for my girlfriend to ride with me in the cart. She doesn't play golf.
Course was nice but they did not keep pace of play at all. Took 5 hours to play 18 holes.
Greens were in great shape.
Great value for your money!
Great value for my money, They have done a great job with the course.
Hi Furman15
Thanks for the review on GolfAdvisor. We're always working on the course and we think she gets better each day. Thanks and come back soon!
been years since I played here
They added new holes and changed others. There's lots of work been done here and lots to be done yet. Looks to be going in the right direction, I will return to this course later this year to play again.
April Golf
This course needs a great deal of conditioning. Greens have been punched and are coming out but are still sandy and bumpy. Might need another two weeks before coming into playing condition. Fairways, no grass anywhere. Hard pan with nothing to cushion the ball. The tee boxes are just areas where markers are placed.
This could be a fun course if they can get good weather and do a lot of work. Five out of six in the cash register line were using Golf Now.
Disappointed!
We had played this course years ago and said we wouldn't go back but were told improvements had been made. I saw some changes but no improvements. Tee boxes were worn to bare ground, many places on the fairway were bare ground. It appeared that nothing was being done at this time it maintain the course.
Decent layout - a few holes around powerlines, etc.
Fairways and tee boxes need attention. Greens were in good shape although slow and need cut. Cart paths were in terrible shape and driving range was in need of maintenance. Some holes were too near the road and one tee shot goes across an active roadway that bisects the course. I am unlikely to return to play this course again.
Friendly staff. Quick pace of play.
Fairly straight forward course. Short even from the tips. Greens were not in great shape.
Staff really makes you feel at home.
All the staff members are friendly, and treat you warmly. The course is well kept. I love to spend time on this course playing a round of golf and getting to see wild life. Deer, rabbits, and many birds are found on this course.
Great value
Played this course utilizing Hot Tee times offer from Golf Now. Excellent value for the money spent.
great course. no bunkers but still challenges you.
Great course layout. Challenges golfersof all levels. No bunkers but has bent grass greens that test your putting. I loved this course.
Enjoyed it immensely, just needs to be a little more challenging
I played this course with my brother. Played at a great pace and the club pro was very friendly and went out of his way (Rick) to be kind to us. I probably should play this from the blue tees as most of the holes are pretty short. I didn't know the course so I decided not to make it any harder on myself. I would say there are four legit hard-ish holes with the rest being very easy to score on if you keep the ball in play. If you want to have a good time though this course is fantastic and staff is great.
Ball placement course
The course has many winding turns and hill sides to deal with. Greens are bent, but should be champion bermuda. Few of the greens had fungus and many needed to be cut shorter and rolled. Play from the tips if you want to hit driver if not...place your shots and work your mid to long irons or hybrid to the greens. Not much sand, but water is all around with very high ruff. Worth playing and the staff is great.
The greens are in excellent shape.
Great Value Using Golf Now. If You Are Long Off The Tee Play From The Blue Tee Box As The Whites Are Pretty Short. This Coure Favors SomeoneThat Hits A Fade. If Can Be Quite Challenging For Someone Thats Natural Draw.
This course is great for beginner and/or high-handicap golfers (like me)!
Wide fairways are a good thing for the duffer like me but there are many blind shots and the greens are in really bad shape. In fairness to the course, it is very early in a spring that still hasn't gotten here completely yet. Still, in despite of the poor conditions of the greens, it was an enjoyable day. Bottom line is if you're really "into" golf and have high expectations then find another spot. If you're looking for a relaxing afternoon on an easier course at a great value then try it out. The guys in the clubhouse were friendly although they were pushing us out about ten minutes earlier than our scheduled tee time in order to satisfy another two foursomes that wanted to go off together. Wasn't a big deal to me...as i said, if you're a 'serious golfer' then try another course....otherwise, it's a good day.
