Golfing in the rain.
First course I got back on after a 10 year brake. Staff was great, fees were good and course was wet, it was a quick and heavy rain that lasted for about 20 min, we were at 2nd hole and returned to the club house for a few to wait it out. After it stopped (took a break) we got back out and finished up the 2nd and move on. Greens held up well and some dried quickly, made it hard to judge,
About the 5th it started again but was lite, we played on, by the 7th a little thonder and more rain for about 10 mins. At the 14th it started again for a bit and stopped again by the 16th. Sun came out and it became hot, looked like a steam room for the rest of the course.
All in all, it was good day on a good course.

Good course friendly staff can't wait to come back. Only complaint is clientele not taking care of the greens.
Nice 3 hour affordable golf
Nice course great value for money. She red of play is excellent mid week. Nice variety of tee choices making it fun and challenging for all. Play the shorter tees and get a few birdies or play the longer tees and getting pars will be a challenge for the average golfer.
White Plains has come along way since the new owners in 2015. Greens are in great shape, fairways are certainly better and more seeding is being done on the back. Tee boxes are in great shape. Keeps getting better every year. No one should ever complain about the price. Good Job well done to the staff.

Course is in great shape this year! Definitely the best choice in Cookeville.
Good course
Really nice course and fun to play. The girl at the clubhouse had an attitude that I used the GolfNow app because "they don't get any money from that". Other than that, everything was great. Basically the only one on the course at 7AM on a Friday.
Play golf
Course has potential. The greens were in good shape. The fairways need attention, as well as tee boxes. Nice course to practice
Greatly improved pace of play
I have complained in the past of 6 people in a group slowing down play. This issue seems to have been resolved.
The greens are in great shape, however the fairways and cart paths need a lot of work.
The course could benefit by having a beverage and food cart on the course at least on the weekends.

No irrigation in the fairways. Very dry. Greens lush and slow. A good place if you just want to get out with some friends.

Poor management
I play this course frequently and I have seen a decline in the course over the last several years. Some staff are not the most friendly. The fairways have huge areas with no grass at all. The tee boxes are uneven. The actual cup for hole is never in the ground far enough which cause it to raise the ground around the hole so putts break different directions at the hole. These things need to be addressed by whoever is in charge and hire someone with experience of how to take care of a golf course.

Slow play Again 6 player in one group
For the second time in 3 weeks we were a 2 some with a group of 6 players in front of us fortunately we only had to put up with them for 9 holes. we were able to get around them on # 10. I don't understand why the course ranger allows this, maybe he was to busy looking for balls or practicing his chipping.
This course could really benefit with a food and beverage cart out on the course especially on the the hot summer days.
