New favorite course
This is by far my favorite course I’ve ever played. I’ve been playing 20+ rounds a year since 2019 and this is the best course I’ve ever played. It’s challenging but not unrealistic. If you strike it well you’ll score on this course. On top of that, it’s beautiful. To make matters even better, I left my wedge on the chipping green for about 7 holes & went back & it was right where I left it. A real gentleman’s course. I will for sure be back, and when the time comes might even become a member here. Highly recommended course. 100/10.
Greystone
I thought for the money it was a great course to play. Very good condition. It is a beautiful course. Fair very hilly which made for an interesting course to play. I will be going there again a lot and I would recommend it to anybody who’s even remotely close to Nashville to go play it.
Please. Please. Please hire a ranger.
Great course but 5 1/2 round can be improved
Weekend walkers
It took 5hrs and 20 mins to complete 18 holes. A foursome playing the tips had 2 ppl walking as well as a non playing 5th (guest) walking. This group was 2 groups ahead of us and set the pace for the day. Had to wait on every tee box for fairways to clear and got backed up 2 groups on every par 3 If Greystone sets tee times 8-12 minutes a part to maximize the number of groups for profit why do they allow walkers on the busiest days (weekends) that’s not a tournament?
Greystone is a hidden gem
Benn playing Greystone for over 20 years and it never lets me down , great ground crew and staff
Greystone 05-18-23
Greystone is a beautiful course in great condition but the pace of play was painfully slow. There was a shortage of carts and when we did get one to start our round the round took over 5 hours to play. On several holes we waited 7-8 minutes to tee off and had to wait a couple of minutes to hit our 2nd and 3rd shots on nearly every hole.
A gem of a course 45 minutes west of Nashville
Beautifully designed, not a long course, a shotmaker's course. The golfer has to think his way through the course, take advantage of 'little favors' it offers, avoid the perils it presents. Holes 10-13 very challenging, great fun!
Visually -- endlessly pretty especially in April-May and October-November. Lots of natural areas, wildflowers and forested spots, lots of wildlife featuring a fearless flock of turkey and another of deer.
The course is laid out on a long hillside facing north, bounded by a creek on west and north sides. When the wind kicks in, it can get chilly.
Cannot say enough good words about the staff--I'm a long time member, and see them at work week in and out. Good good people.
Horrible Pace of Play
We paid for 18 holes and only played 7. The pace of play was horrible. At least 3 tee times stacked up on every hole. I will not play there again. Montgomery Bell was so much nicer and a joy to play. No waiting at any hole.
Monday afternoon
Played on a Monday afternoon and the course was pretty much wide open. Great conditions , the the tee boxes , fairways , and greens were in good shape. I would recommend playing here.
Quite a surprise!
My group likes to play ‘random’ courses throughout the area. Thought we’d give this place a try. Wow! What an amazing course. Challenging yet very playable. Course is in incredible shape. Greens were fast, fairways allowed great carry on your drives. We WILL be back. Definitely worth the 3+ hour drive from Kentucky we made to play.
Best Public Course in Middle Tennessee
Fantastic test that is in great shape. Zoysia fairways to Bent Greens. Does not get any better than this in Middle Tennessee.
Quarry Dust on a Windy Day
Just traveling through and there don’t appear to be a lot of options for public golf courses in the area, so it makes sense that this rates as one of the best around, Nice staff. Ok price. Beware it’s an extremely windy course. Staff said it’s always windy here. To compound that, there’s a quarry on the edge of the course that makes a racket and, worse, spews a lot of dust—so much we were washing our mouths out on many holes. Our pace of play was good. Course bathrooms were dirty. We had a fine day, but it’s one of those that we wouldn’t go back to.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting GreyStone Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
LONG ROUND
This course has a very intriguing layout. Difficult lies so knowing where you can miss is important. The issue was pace of play was brutal. Took us 4 hours to get through the front 9. Almost stopped at 9 and just took the loss because it was so slow.
The green quality was average but I thought the difficulty of the greens was fair for a mid handicap golfer. Around the green conditions were really poor, Fringes were fried and not well kept.
Overall, this is not a 75 dollar course IMO but I did enjoy the difficulty of the blind tee shots and somewhat hilly/link inspired set up.
.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Hi Joe. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance and we’ll do better in the future.
