Always a Challenge
Just minutes from Jackson makes this course convenient to play and value is second to none.. The course itself provides many challenges including blind shots, narrow tree lined fairways with a small landing areas, and hardly ever a lie where you are on level ground...That being said I always enjoy playing here. You are welcomed to your round by a long par 5 that you won’t see the green until your third shot.. Just be prepared to lose a couple balls if you don’t play smart and keep it in the fairway( and sometimes in the fairway if it takes a bad hop). After playing the course a few times you learn where to miss and will find the course more manageable . Conditions of the course are average or above for our area for public course. Greens are usually in good shape , soft and slow. Fairways Are well mowed and maintained. Bunkers need some help and probably should just take a ground under repair drop . Extreme slopes in some areas can cause some erosion in spots but overall the course is usually in good shape.
Not much in the way of amenities as far as hot food, but plenty of snacks and drinks.. Driving range and putting green serve their purpose.
Bent Tree
Difficult course with a lot of elevation change and hillside lies. Greens are coming around. Golf course really needs some TLC but is a good value for the money.
Hilly and blind shots
Maintenance is a real issue. Greens have goose grass invasion. Run-off has caused damage to many areas. I would not recommend the this course until the above is fixed, if ever. No concessions either. Their license for food preparation has not cleared at the time I played.
This course is best value in this area.
Bent Tree is no doubt one of my favorite courses in this area. The course is always in great condition and the staff there is very friendly and efficient. The course is also very challenging as you have to know where to place your shots for the best vantage point. I would not hesitate in recommending this course to anyone.
Layout issues
Besides really poor maintainence the layout of the holes was ridiculous. It was a good cheap course to hit golf balls not for a serious game. Low hdcp players will absolutely hate this course by the second hole.
TIMANLEY, SOUNDS LIKE U SHOULD BE ON THE DRIVING RANGE! LOL
Having recently played this course again, I completely disagree with these statements and think it is unfair to the course. I'm not sure what your personal standards are, but the course is well maintained and fair test of golf... BTW I'm a low handicap player.
Ok
Greens were being sanded when I played. Tough course a lot of the holes are
Blind shots Bring plenty balls
This course is great.
I love playing this course. The staff is friendly, the greens and fairways are manicured well and for the price you can't beat it. I recommend any golfer ( beginner or advanced ) to play this course at least once and I guarantee you will be impressed .
Potential for Great Course
New management is investing in the course and it is making a difference. The greens have some rough spots, probable due to the hard winter, but they're filling in nicely and roll true. Greens are medium in regard to hardness and can be relatively fast. The fairways are in great shape (some minor areas need work), tight and cut low to allow for roll out, but if you miss the rough will make you pay as it is spaghetti. The layout is a challenge and demands shot making skills to shoot low scores. The course has a good driving range, but is in need of range balls as they are a hodge podge of recovered golf balls and most are not much count. There is not a practice putting green at the present time. There are some blind shots, but a quick drive up in the cart to scope out the fairway will show you the way. For the money, this is a huge deal and a great day of golf. Go play this course as it will only be getting better in the future.
