Amazing course
I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want everyone to know about this place.
Everything, from the owners and management, to the GPS carts, to the practice range and green, to the course itself is amazing. There are times after a big rain that areas become a bit wet. For a hilly course on a river you almost expect that.
Pace of play is amazing. I play very fast. I can get a round in in about 2 hours by myself. People will always let you play through.
The carts are amazing, with built in GPS and bluetooth speakers. They even have golf cart scooters now. I haven't tried that, but I want to. The best in social distancing.
The only thing I can cut them on a little is course conditions, and it's not their fault, it is just that rainy time of year. But everything else that they are doing is working great, The fairways are easy to hit off of. The greens are fast, but nice. The strange part of this course is 9 and 10 are nowhere near the club house, so you can't stop at the turn.
I do wish they had some more expendables in the pro shop, could just be that time of year. But I'd like to have a choice of more than 3 kinds of balls. Some hats would be nice, etc. But knowing that I bring what I need anyways.
Incredible Value
I usually play the municipal courses in central Nashville, but this will be my go to course from now on. Our foursome had an awesome time for many reasons. First off, the owner, Jonathan, is an excellent host- he and his staff at the bar are genuinely happy to accommodate you and make sure you’re having a great experience. The club house and the practice facility have everything you need, and the GPS carts are a huge plus! The course is fun to play, with a range of bluffs, rock walls, water, challenging bunkers, and natural undulations, which encourage the player to think more about course management and less about hitting every shot as far as possible. Since the course is just outside of Nashville, you rarely feel rushed and can truly enjoy being in nature, away from noisy highways. We will continue coming back because of the hospitality, the course, and the great value. Nashville National deserves the support of people local to Nashville and tourists as well.
Great course
The course was in great shape for wintertime! Of course there were wet spots but there has been a lot of rain. the greens were in good shape and the fairways firm. Play this course!
Nice course
Friendly staff, course in better shape than expected. Need to work on drainage in front of a few of the greens. Lost one ball totally buried in the mud in front of one of the par 3’s and a few of the others had to take relief because of poor drainage. Greens were in very nice shape. The course is short but a challenge. Very good experience here. Will be back.
Having Fun
I play this course couple times a week. It always plays through without hold ups, staff is always friendly and willing to help with all questions. And the VERY BEST HAMBURGERS you will ever eat on a golf course. The greens are always in great shape along with the fairways. Just a Absolutely Gorgeous view and very relaxing course to play.
Amazing!
I didn’t know what kind of shape the greens would be in this winter so I didn’t expect much. I was blown away! I will definitely return
Great Hidden Affordable Gem
This was a great track for the money. Staff was awesome!! Pace of play was great. 3 hours for 18 holes. Highly recommended this course
Course in great shape
The course is in great shape. Leaves are dropping but they are not much of a problem. Sand traps could use some work but I try to avoid them anyway!
good value
Have not played this course since it was Through the Green. Hospitable staff, great carts with GPS. Course was dry and hard but in good shape for the end of season. Will return.
ADD TO YOUR LIST
If you are looking for a new course to challenge your shotmaking ability, then give NNGL a try. Yes, it's the same Highland Rim track, but it's got a new.owner that I can say personally is committed to making this course a regional destination. If you haven't been here or it's been a few years, make the trek. It's not that far out of town and once there, you feel like you have no one around you for miles. The pace of play was great. Staff friendly. I will be back and look forward to seeing how the course improves. Back nine has a lot of fun holes.
