Greens
Tee boxes, fairways, traps all in good shape. Several greens have been aeriated and several were having some problems with bare spots. Overall a good experience
Very poor greens
Greens in poor condition but are coming back nicely. Overall everything else is great.
No Greens at Deerfield
Poorly maintained, confusingly marked and bafflingly designed, The Greens at Deerfield has to be one of the worst courses in the country, The course design wedges holes into a bizarre layout with an overuse of elevated tees and narrow landing areas. The greens at present are a travesty. The signage is not helpful. I cannot recommend this course. I'm grateful that I'm only out 20 bucks. Disappointed.
Worst greens EVER
Playing golf for the last 17 years, This is by far the worst greens I’ve ever played on. The ironic thing, this course being called The Greens at Deerfield is hilarious and a slap in the face to anyone that plays this course. The practice putting green was in decent shape, so how can they maintain it and not have one green on the course that was not dead. Not a single one. Please don’t waste your money or time going to this course,
Unfortunate Timing
Course lay out very nice. Greens in horrible shape due to aeration and hornets buzzing all around. Thousands of them on every hole except for three holes. Luckily no stings but ridiculous. Maybe just this time of year? Not sure. Course lay is beautiful with incredible views. If conditions were different would have played again during my week stay on Norris lake.
Challenging course
Beautiful course with rolling hills. Ball placement is a must. Great course for all playing levels
Nice course
I've been playing this course for over ten years. For the past three years owners are striving to make this course for average golfer more friendly. Pick your tees carefully because it will kick your butt.. Great course with some very tight fairways. I do hate 3 holes on this course. They are #9,#10, and #17.
Unique Great Shape Fun
went thru Golfnow to book. always a plus.
First, Justin at the counter was super nice and helpful. i had never been there before and he gave me a rundown of the course that was surprisingly accurate. i felt right at home from the start.
Second
the course runs beside the river and flows up and over the side of a large hill. it is mostly cut thru the hills, but the holes at the river were unique and fun.
this course was a breath of fresh air compared to the other courses in east tennessee that are straight forward and ordinary. depending on your skill level, you can decide to tee of over water or play forward and not take the chance. par 3’s were accessible, but gaurded by banks or grass bunkers and not always with your boring bunker. trees lined most fairways with trouble on one side and bail outs (banks) on the other. there was this one par 4, 16 i think, that you tee’d off from the top of a hill. you could see out towards the river and deer crossed the fairway as we started to tee off (incredible view of most of the golf course).
there was a great grill at the club house.
clubs, hats golf balls and your usual clubhouse amenities were available.
Finally,
this was no course to walk, but a must play if your in east tennessee. i was very impressed. every hole offered something different.
i think justin’s last name is roundtree, if you call or go, give him a shout.
Very beautiful
Course was great shape back nine is tight pleanty of hills for a challenging day only problem was mowers
Great Course
the course is a lot of fun and is a beautiful course. The views from the course are awesome. Definitely would prefer this course while you are at Norris lake
Tennessee Mountain Golf at its Finest
The Greens at Deerfield is a truly unique golf experience. The layout takes full advantage of the beautiful views of Lake Norris. The course is well designed, especially given the challenges of building a golf course in the hills of Tennessee.
Awsume
Beautiful exciting holes so peaceful. Great Greens
