Old Stone Fort
Could be a real nice course especially for the price. The fairways were very weedy and most greens had very little grass on them.
Just needs to be better taken care of
Great Course to have fun!
This is the first time since the course had reopened that I have played out there. Just before it closed the greens became infected with some type of fungus that nearly destroyed them, then the course shut down sometime after. It was closed for several years and neglected after the State Government stopped funding the maintenance. This was one of the first courses that I played in my beginning years of golf and it is nice to go back and reminisce on old times!
Old Stone
Cool course with really friendly staff. The greens could use some work, but it’s an awesome environment if you’re wanting to learn the game.
Super friendly staff
Great value, very scenic for a 9 hole course. If greens were in better shape it would’ve gotten a 5 across the board. Great course to relax and get away.
Terrible Condition
This was the course I grew up playing with my dad. We thought it would be fun to go play a quick 9 for old time’s sake. We probably have close to 200 rounds at Old Stone Fort, but it had been about 10 years since we played. When we first pulled in, we both recalled several great memories at a special course. It hadn’t seemed to change after all these years. When we walked into the clubhouse, the staff was super friendly. We were excited for our round. When we got to the first tee, it looked like typical fall Old Stone Fort. Then the nostalgia was ripped away. The grass on the greens was ⅓ of a ball tall, so it felt like putting on shag carpet. The hazard ponds looked disgusting and unkempt, the bunkers were all grown over, and the few wooden steps on the course looked rotten and forgotten. We were so disappointed that we didn’t even think to stop and take pictures. We just used the round as a glorified practice range.
