Gaylord Springs Golf Links
About
The Cumberland River gave birth to the Scottish links-style Gaylord Springs Golf Links, a par-72 golf course that provides 18 testing holes that border limestone bluffs and wetlands protected by the feds. The golf course, designed by the former U.S. Open and PGA Champion Larry Nelson, has collected several distinctions over its days.
The big draw on the Gaylord Springs Golf Links is the signature fourth hole, home to the hundred-plus-year-old springhouse that gives the golf course its name.
After a round on the Gaylord Springs Golf Links, head back to the 43,000-square-foot antebellum-style clubhouse to shop, dine, and take in the views of the golf course.

Rain on my Parade
As a resident of Connecticut, I should be ecstatic to have been able to actually tee off on t-boxes and putt on greens; however, the course was underwater! The t-boxes were mud with standing water the fairways the same. greens were in solid shape The staff was great, though
Nice, but Wet
Enjoyed the course, but not only CPO but the course was very wet. All fairways were wet. No real place to clean and place. I’d play this again if it were dry. I’d avoid playing here if it’s CPO.
MUST PLAY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
This course is absolutely a MUST PLAY in middle Tennessee. From the get go you drive along the entire course and you pull up to an impressive 2 story massive clubhouse. Upon arrival they do have a bag drop area which I suggest you use since it is a little bit of a trek from the parking lot to the actual loading area. The starters and cart workers are always a tad on the brash side but you can get that everywhere. I was there on a very busy day and did request my own cart, which they did oblige, but weren't very happy about it (I paid extra to do this).
The clubhouse workers are very friendly, accommodating and are on top of everything. The pro shop itself is one of the nicest in the area with everything imaginable to purchase if needed. The bar area is nice and a good place to get food/drink.
Now onto the golf. The teetimes are properly spaced out and I had an 11:00 tee time and we started exactly on time. Most courses are very lax about this but I very much appreciate their attention to detail.
This course is a challenging, links style championship golf course and if you haven't ever played here I would recommend pairing up with people who have. I have played here numerous times so I somewhat no the ins and outs of the course. I played with 3 others who were friendly and played at a nice pace.
The fairways are as firm as to be expected for the end of February, the rough is penalizing, but not over bearing, and the greens are lightning fast for this time of year and you absolutely had to be below the hole. Overall, if you live in Nashville or are visiting, this course is one of the best around and you'll be hard pressed to find any place in the immediate area any better
Gaylord Springs Nashville
Considering it was 2/24, the course was in great shape. Greens were fast and rolled smoothly. Will play again on my next visit in May
First hole surprise
A friend and I met here because it was about a 30 minute drive for each of us. 68 degrees and sunny. When we got to the course the wind was really whipping up
We paid, practiced putting, and heading to hole 1 at the assigned time.
The stareter informed us it WAS CART PATH ONLY. This is the first we had heard of this.
We would, of course, chosen another course if we had known this in advance.
The fairways were soggy. Way too much mud.
It is going to be a while before I come back here to play. Buyer Beware.
Pre-Season
Cart restrictions were quite a pain, but I understand the need at times. Should probably adjust cart restrictions based on the weather, being 60-67 and relatively firm.
Special treat
The course was in great shape following the start of the frost season. The staff was top notch and very accommodating. The layout is challenging but fair. We were surprised the greens were so fast. My home course is owned by a former PGA pro and he would love our course greens to run like these. It is pricey for everyday golf in middle Tennessee, but it’s a special treat 2-3 times a year.
Has it all
Gaylord Springs is pretty cool. Four tees to really dial-in your abilities to match desired challenge. Water features and trees on enough holes to make the layout interesting but not overwhelming. Our foursome (5 to 10 handicaps) didn’t lose a ball. Two beverage carts keep the thirst at bay. Finally, the course is about 15 min. drive from the airport facilitating getaway tee times. I teed off at noon, finished at 4:30pm, returned rental car at 4:50pm, boarded my flight home at 5:50pm
Great layout
Course was pretty fun. Some great holes and not many bad ones. Great greens. Pace was pretty dismal at 5 hours.
Cart girls were scarce and miserable.
Links style with lightning greens
My son and I stopped in Nashville during a cross country golf road trip and chose Gaylord Springs as our course of the day. Very cool links style layout with lots of mounding and very undulating greens. Not any easy course to navigate without using a GPS app, especially off the tee. Fairways are all pretty wide and really well maintained with lots of roll when you hit them. It was kind of gusty the day we played, so hitting a lower tee shot was beneficial, not sure if this is the usual. Overall, great course that'll make you want to snap your putter. Pro shop personnel were friendly, but cart kid made no effort to do anything about loading or unloading. I definitely recommend!
Fun course
Greens are great. They were running fast but they were true. Course layout was fun
We will be back
Played a really nice round on a beautiful course
I played with my wife and a 2 some
One ((Mark) is a member and was really kind with us
Explaining and giving pointers
We felt the southern hospitality all day long
Thieves
I booked a time for 4 golfers then needed to change it to 2, GN customer service was excellent and the adjusted the reservation. The rate was 89.00 and GN billed me $89 with balance due at the course. When I go to pay they charged me $155.00 the guy behind the counter claimed GN keeps 20%. I didn’t know if that was true or not but I paid $244.00 for two golfers!
Spectacular
Amazing course in perfect shape. Charging for range balls is a little tacky at a high end course but otherwise A+.
Overpriced
Not worth the cost. Better courses in similar shape for half the costs.
Slow play without correction
Would not correct slow play as the Marshall told us they were keeping pace.
