Table Rock Golf Club
About
Table Rock Golf Club stands out from many other courses in Ohio thanks to the abundance of trees. This public course is not the most challenging or scenic, but it is fair test of your skills and it is known for its excellent conditions. The layout has a more open front nine but towards the back of the course is where the abundant trees come into play. The last nine holes are much tighter with narrow fairways bordered by dense forest. Accuracy is a necessity in order to finish well. The 14th and 18th holes are local favorites. Table Rock Golf Club's layout is player friendly enough for beginners but still provides challenges that appeal to more experienced players. There are also five sets of tees to further adjust the game to your skill level.

Table Rock
Our group has played Table Rock numerous time this year, but the first warning we had that the course was in sub-par condition was the "For Sale" sign. There were even "For Sale" signs hanging in the carts as well instead of a placard that instructed golfers to the pin positions or any other information that should be there. The tee boxes were in pitiful condition and the fairways were decent, but not as nice as they were earlier in the year. Some of the greens had been aerated while some were not, leaving us guessing the speed or even where to land approach shots. How unfortunate that this is another course that will be written off of our rotation.
nice course - excellent value
Good conditions, friendly staff - will be going again
Thank you for the review! We hope to see you back again soon.
Crabgrass
Unfortunately I found out that the course is for sale. They have let The crabgrass get out of control and has taken over almost 98% of the golf course. The course is overrun now crabgrass everywhere. I would not go play this golf course don't let the cheap rate get you it is not worth the drive or the money to play.
We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your round! We will be taking care of the crabgrass in the off season. In the meantime, enjoy great rates online!
Great putter collection
Greens were excellent shape. Putted very true and great speed. Fairway's weren't the best but overall can't complain for the price. Good value. Nice putter collection and staff was very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for the nice review! We're glad you enjoyed your round and our staff. Hope to see you soon!
Heavenly afternoon at TRGC
Prompted by an email at 10 am I booked an 11:22 tee tome through GolfNow website. Easily found the course on time and joined with a lovely couple Mike and Rita for an outstanding day of golf at this well loved track north of Sunbury. Conditions, weather and course were ideal with very pleasing vistas and out-in-the-country atmosphere. Will definitely get back here real soon....love the laid back vibe!
Thank you for the 5 star review! We're so glad you were able to easily book a tee time and enjoyed your whole experience at the course! We hope to see you again!
Still pretty wet, but not bad shape
We have had a ton of rain, but the course has handled it fairly well. Greens are always pretty good. Bunkers were a little rough, but the rest of the course was fine.
Thanks for the review! We hope you come back out again, course is in great shape!
bittersweet
excellent layout but the condition of the course was terrible.
We're sorry you were disappointed with the conditions, we hope you give us another chance and come back out!
Very dry with many distractions
The course was very dry, which was surprising because the area has had constant rain for the past 2 weeks. The fairways were hard to distinguish from the rough because all the grass was so short. The footgolfing was the largest issue because there were large groups of people kicking soccer balls and yelling, which is not what you expect when you are golfing. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the pace of play was fantastic. It is hard to be too upset with this course though because it was so cheap. In this case, I think it is safe to say that you get what you pay for!
Thank you for the review and feedback about your experience at the course. It has been extremely hot so the course is more dry than usual. We do offer footgolf around regular tee times so be sure to check our website for footgolf and regular 18 hole play!
This course is a hidden gem
For the price, this course is in very good shape. From the tee to the green, it is considerably better than you would expect for the price. The staff and players I have encountered are family friendly. I would feel comfortable playing this course if I were a scratch golfer or just a beginner.
Thanks for the great review about the course and the staff! We are a family owned business and hope you keep coming back!
Glad I Finally Visited Table Rock
I had been wanting to try Table Rock for quite a while based on recommendations by others and I finally got out there on Sunday. The course sets in the countryside, which I always like. Immediately I had a good feeling about the place by the way I was treated in the pro shop. Very nice welcome and helpful information was provided since I was new.
I played as a single to start and found it very easy to get around. The first nine is pretty open and I scored well by posting a 37 before getting to the infamous back nine. Well, it didn't turn out to be too infamous as many of the tress that would have made it extremely tight were removed. That was probably a good decision because it would have been too tight for a public course in my opinion. None of us are getting paid out here after all.
I paired up with a couple of nice guys for the second nine and we had a good time, but it did hit me on the scorecard a bit. I'd say the back is a little tougher than the front and I ended up at 79. Despite the very wet weather, the course was in good condition and I'll bet it's excellent during years of more normal weather.
My only criticism would be that the greens were a bit inconsistent in terms of speed. They will break less than you would think so keep that in mind, and the practice green rolls a bit faster than those on the course. They do hold pretty nicely if you keep your shot high, but expect a short roll-out. Lots of water too so be prepared for that.
The carts were nice and included ball and club washers, and there is a nice pro shop and place to eat downstairs. I didn't get any food or drink, but there were plenty of options. Definitely worth the drive from Columbus if you haven't been here yet.
Thank you for the awesome, detailed review of the course! We had to cut down many of the trees on the back 9 due to an insect infestation that killed the trees. We're glad you enjoyed your round and hope you make it out there again!
Great Golf Value for the Money
Outside of conditions beyond the course's control, the course is in nice shape. Greens roll nice, and the fairways look good. Played 18 (twosome) in just under 3 hours. Nice variety of golf holes. Again, considering the ridiculous amount of rain that central Ohio has received, they're doing a good job of keeping the course playable. It's too bad about the loss of all their trees. I will be back for sure.
Thank you for the nice review! It's been a tough month of bad weather and rain so we appreciate the compliment of the course conditions. We are consistently working to keep up with mother nature and the course is in great shape! Hope to see you again soon.
Challenging enough
Played from the blue tees, played the ball down and even after a few rainy days it was fairly dry. Fairways and greens in descent shape for a public course. Pace was good and club and ball washer on carts is a nice touch.
We hope you enjoyed your round! We've been working hard to keep the greens in good shape after all the rain, come back this summer!
Great round!
Played Early, - first group out - greens were quick and consistent - even though still covered with dew. Course in great shape!
Really a bargain for the price - everyone was very friendly!
We'll be back!
So good to hear you enjoyed your round! We hope you come back again. We offer the best rates online so be sure to check our website often for great deals!
Great play
This course was in fantastic shape. The fairways were rolling and the greens were very true. The only complaint I have is with the mower that was stalking me on the back nine. I literally felt like he was following me. He also never turned on his mower which was pretty annoying. Finished 18 by myself in two and a half hours so pace of play was really good. I think the next time I'm going to go there I'm trying footgolf.
We're glad the round was enjoyable and that you'll come back for footgolf! That must have been a strange coincidence with the mower, we usually would not be able to keep up with such a fast pace of play! Either way, sorry it made you uncomfortable but come back again!!
Fun course for a great value.
I played 18 holes on a hot deal from golfnow.com. The course was in good shape, the greens were in great condition, and we had very little waiting. Plus there is a foot golf course as well. I look forward to getting to play there again.
Great to hear your experience was good! We offer footgolf bookings online so be sure to use our website to reserve your footgolf round!
where did the trees go?
Fun course, not a lot off water.Trees are gone from 11-12 holes too bad they made those holes more challenging
We're glad you think the course is fun! We had to cut down the trees due to an insects killing a lot of them. We hope you come back out this summer!
I was disappointed in the course
I have played Table Rock many times over the last 10 years and the condition of the course was a disapointment. Not only was it soggy, the course has never drained well but many trees have been cut down and the character of the course has changed. I am apparently not the only one as the course was not getting much play.
Hi there - we appreciate the feedback! We've been hit with a ton of rain and had to cut down some trees due to an insect infestation that killed the trees. We've been offering great tee time specials online so we'd love for you to give us another shot and come play a round!
Very nice layout.
All of the stumps from the recent tree removal process are still sticking up 12 - 18 inches above ground and need ground, graded and seeded. It takes away from the esthetics of the golf course.
Yes we still have some stumps around the course! Unfortunately we had to chop down 500 trees due to an insect attacking and killing a lot of the trees. It will take some time to get things back to normal so please bare with us throughout the process!
Course condition
Several dozen big trees removed but the stumps remain sticking up 1 or 2 feet. Makes the course far less enjoyable to play.
Hi there - the emerald ash bore (an insect) have attacked and killed over 500 trees! This was so unfortunate and we had no intentions of removing these trees. It was certainly not our plan and will take some time to remove the stumps and get back to normal!
Lots of character
This course is really putting in the effort to be an attraction. Footgolf also available. Course was dry and played well. Greens were smooth and not too fast. Ball/club washer on carts is a real plus in my view. Definitely good value. A little bit of a trek for Columbus folk.
Even thought it may be a trek, we hope you found it worth it! We offer great rates on our website so be sure to check that out for tee time specials!
Hi there and thank you for the review and feedback about your experience at the course. We are working on improving conditions of the course and hope to see you again soon!
