The Legacy

Always great course challenge and consistent conditions. We played 18 holes as foursome and loved pace of play. The drive is long from Nashville but worth the experience. We will be back soon.

Played in late April, so the grass is just coming in. Still a little like winter conditions. High winds and dry conditions, and the course had not done a great job keeping up with the watering needs. But, in mid May this course will be in nice shape.

Pace was good, but course was not packed.
Club house not much, but didn't care about that.

A good course to play. I will be back

First time playing here so maybe I'm missing something. But if you have GPS carts and can see where everyone is at, why are three groups backed up for one very slow foursome? And you GPS stops the cart in the middle of the fairway with absolutely no warning you are approaching an out of bounds area forcing a pain in the butt backing up of the cart. Just not for me.

The course is a bit rough. Bermuda is still pretty dormant. The greens were on the slow side. Nice layout. A lot of elevation changes and a few holes where the greens are perched high about the fairway/tee. Holes 10 and 11 are very difficult with fairways that are almost hard pan, like most of them. We played with a great guy, Jack, who is a member and that was helpful. We paid a $39 “hot deal” rate but I wouldn’t pay more until the course matures in a month or two.

I was excited to try and take my golf game to a new course being new to TN. I drove over an hour to Legacy and wasn’t impressed upon pulling up. Glimpses of course were brown and dead looking with the only green color being in new tree buds and the putting greens. There was lots of course construction and cart path repair (which was pleasant when driving on newly poured paths). About a third of the pin locations were not in correspondence with what the signs and pro shop told us. Pins were in very obscure and not very friendly positions for about half of the greens as they were on “domed” mounds or crests and very difficult to putt to let alone make good shots into. The pictures on GolfNow do not represent this course well. I wouldn’t go back if I was given a free round there. Benefits? Lots of gorgeous all brink homes around the course.

For 55 to 75 dollars you can play a challenging course with excellend undulating greens and tee boxes with little to no grass on them. What little grass is on em is dead. Fairways were in terrible shape with the dead grass cut super thin and a nice thin layer of mud atop a very hard ground did not do much for helping to get the ball in the air.

We were just looking for a place to play where the weather was nice. For the time of year the course was in good shape. Fairways were brown and cut very short. Greens were just aerated but in good shape. I’m sure in the middle of summer this is a fantastic course. Had a great time playing and would go back.

Had another lovely day at The Legacy. Booked a hot deal, and a short while later got a call (and a text) from the pro shop letting me know the greens had been aerated earlier in the week. I was itching to play and the fact that they went out of their way to let me know, I decided to make the trip anyway. As I expected the grounds crew had done a wonderful job of top dressing the greens and all but two putts were smooth all day. Anyone not wishing to blame their game on someone else would agree. The tees and fairways are still dormant, which is completely normal this time of year. There were some really tight lies but you could also putt from just about anywhere around the green because of the dormant grass. First time playing here not in the height of golf season and I was pleasantly surprised. I'll have no fear of being disappointed at any time of year. Highly recommended!

Played on a Hot Deal of $40.00 per player including all fees and taxes. Course was recovering from a big wind and rain storm a few days prior so lots of downed trees etc... being cleaned up. Dormant fairways were in good shape. Greens were smooth, fast, and very challenging with a lot of slope/undulation in all of them. The layout has a lot of character and is challenging as well. Good course that I look forward to playing again.

For the time of year this course was in great shape, they have made some improvements with concrete cart paths, it is a challenging course and fun to play! Worth the drive to get there

First time playing the Legacy in about two years. First off it was a beautiful afternoon to play golf! I was impressed with the green speed and smoothness as the last time I had played they were a little longer and slower (bent grass). Several of the holes had new cart paths and much of the brush was cut down on many of the holes creating it much more playable. Sand traps had nice, new sand in them and have come a long way from what they were (un-maintained). If you haven’t played this Ray Floyd design in a while, give it a try!
