Coming along nicely
The course and the greens are improving daily and I am so glad they will be grassing in the bunkers soon. If you have not played out here recently you should give it another try it is a great place for the everyday golfer to come and hang out.
Getting Better
The course continues to show improvement. While there are still some rough patches on the greens they continue to improve. The fairways are looking much better also as well as the tee boxes. I think the course will surprise some people who haven't played it within the past six months.

Course continues to improve almost daily. Good value for the money!
Improvements are obvious
Course has turned a corner and is headed in the right direction after a change in ownership, maintenance staff, and vision. You don't have to look any further than the work being done to recover the greens. Just 6 short months ago, they were entirely unplayable, but the staff has done a great job just to get grass back on to the surfaces. Provided you head out with the understanding that this is not a high-end course, you will have an enjoyable time and not pay a high-end rate either.
Last Time
We had to change plans for the weekend at the last minute so we looked at golf now to find a tee time and found a time early morning on a Sunday for 4. Thought we got lucky but when we arrived parking lot was empty, only one person in shop, no starter and no other golfers. After playing the first hole, we figured out why; the fairway was full of weeds, bunkers were full of weeds and no sand. The few bunkers that did have sand, it was so hard!! The greens looked like the fairway!!! The water jugs had algae growing on the nozzles (lord know what else)! Didn't dare look in restroom!!! Definitely will not be going there again!! The course had the feeling of abandonment.... really don't think it'll be open within the year.... shame ☹️
Still improving
The course is improving everytime I go. Greens still slow due to heat and new owner said they will grass in 80 percent of the bunkers. I like that. Staff is the friendliness around and love the atmosphere. It's like going to Cheers. ...going to play again this weekend. ..
Nice to see this course going in right direction again.
Getting Better
My wife and I have been playing Northcliffe for about a year. Several times we've considered giving up on the course because of its condition. To our surprise the course is slowly showing signs of improvement. The greens are much better than they had been and the fairways are also improving. It's very apparent the golf course is receiving the attention that it has needed for a long time. We're looking forward to the continual improvements that will keep us coming back to Northcliffe.
Getting Better All The Time
Hats off to all the good folks at Northcliffe. The greens and fairways have improved ten fold over the last six months. The sand traps are rough but the tee boxes are in great shape. If you have not played it recently, give it another try. It is a great value for the money and the employees are there to make sure you have a good experience.
replay this course
I saw there were lots of negative reviews about this course but I would recommend that if you played this course over 2 months ago to give it a replay. Sure, it's still a work in progress but the course is vastly improved. The price is great & the staff is friendly.
Noted improvement
Course maintenance and upkeep was lacking or simply ignored by previous owners. Since the course manager has taken over full responsibility for all phases of course operation I've noted continual improvement. Maintenance is being performed regularly, greens have improved significantly (80+% better). Current overall condition of the course makes it a great value for cost. This course is fun to play again!
Getting Better!
The green fee of $20 with a cart weekdays is of course excellent. The fairways are in fair shape, and improving. They have decided to keep 10 sand traps and they are well manicured, but with a lot of dirt in them instead of sand and packed. The rest of the traps they are going to seed, water and grow grass as collection areas which it think is a bright move. The best improvement is the work being done on the greens. which are currently furry, long and slow, but which show great improvement, especially the 13th green which they are completely reseeding. At present this course is only in fair condition, but worth the $20 fee. There are real indication however of a better future.
Pleasantly Suprised
I was pleasantly suprised at reviews and went to play it myself with some friends. Except for a few spots on greens from irrigation. The greens were nice but putted slow. Proshop guy explained that old owners were going to lock up and leave. He said the pro leased it and is rebuilding it from scratch. The are getting the greens, tees and fairways back with limited city water and has come along way since I was there in June. The staff is great and with the community, this course looks like it will survive their near fatal fate. It is going to be the ideal everyday golfers course and for the value, it will be fun to watch it evolve. It's not the TPC, but it is a great course to play and have a cold one after. I pray for the pro and his staff to make it all happen.
poor condition but if you don't like being rushed this is the course for you
First thing I would like to say is the prices that they have inside the clubhouse to play this course for the condition it's in is ridiculous I feel that this course isn't worth more than 10 to $15 per golfer and that's for a full 18 holes with a golf cart. Second thing I'd like to say is the fairways are so rough with cracks with no grass. Last thing I'd like to say is Good Luck playing on the greens the grass is so slow and rough and have weeds. There's also places on the green where they have splashes of sand. If you go just know it's a practice course and not worth paying money to actually play around of legitimate golf.
Seeing Improvements
I can see improvements to the greens and hopefully they'll continue to improve. If you end up in a sand trap I'd advise you to drop out because they're packed. The fairways have also been receiving attention and also show improvement.
Bad conditions
This course was in worse thsn horrible condition. I would NOT recommend it to my worse enemy
