staff
Pricey for what you get. The course is in good shape and plays well.
The staff on the other hand is very rude. From the tournament director to the club house guy. Because of the tournament director I will not spend my money there. Ever.
Perfect course conditions
From tee box to green the course was in great shape. The greens are fast but roll true. Food was amazing and the staff were friendly.
Unique and challenging
This course is unique in that every hole is a little different. Elevation is evident and the river seems to go on forever. It's the most challenging course in DFW but will continue to play here for a very long time. Very enjoyable.
Delays
I have never had a 2 hour delay, but we were informed when we got at the golf course that there is a 2 hour delay and our tee time was at 150pm. Seeing how we were in December that would mean that we would tee off at 356pm which we would only get to play maybe 4-6 holes. The staff told me to take it up with Golfnow and wouldn't adjust any fees. They also said they sent an email to everyone early in the morning, but we were never notified. We drove 1 hour to play this course, so you can only imagine that there is some serious frustration built here. As to the $40 fee I paid online, they told me to deal with Golf now and there is no 1800 for golf now. This is an aweful experience, what happened to customer experience and service?
Good
The course was nice not my favorite. Layout was alright. Lots of layup holes. Longer hits will definitely want to play tips or come ready to hit mostly irons off the tee.
Great outing
Greens are fast. The course layout is great along with chipping and driving range. First outing and will go back
Ball Eater with a view.
Paid full price and several greens were aerated and sanded. Course itself is a low handicap layout. Trouble everywhere… lots of water and thick vegetation right off the fairways, crossing fairways and green side. Bring a box of balls if your not playing consistently in the 80s.
Bunkers everywhere, I mean everywhere, but I have to say, some of the best sand bunkers I’ve seen in a while. No, mud, gravel, hard pack. Light white sand that tests your skills.
Nice views. Carts are nice, bolstered seats and no crazy GPS that stops your cart. Pro shop is tiny. Grill is meh. Driving range is very nice. On course drink service was good and steady. 18th hole surprise, young man cleans your clubs, cold towels for your face and cup of lemonade. Bring a cash tip.
I won’t play again until I get down to 12 handicap. Too frustrating.
Nice Track Brutal Conditions
I would recommend playing this course when it actually has grass. Poor conditions make this course extremely difficult. Would not play it again this time of year.
Great layout, but condition wasn't great
A great layout and I am looking forward to going out there again in the late spring summer, when the conditions will be much better. If you were off the many elevated greens, there is a good chance you were on the dirt. The course is just dormant right now and once spring hits, things will be much better.
Good Round
I had only played here once ~14 years ago. We enjoyed the round. Course was in good shape, I did lose a few balls as I expected from other reviews. Pace of play was good. I was a little disappointed in the club house / bar area. Not overly, just not as good as I expected.
I would recommend the course to anyone.
Tough
Course was a little difficult. We played from the tips which was a mistake for me. But when in Rome. I’d like to try it again from the blue tees.
Layout was pretty cool and the conditions and greens were excellent.
As far as value, at $65 it’s an A++.
Sky creek ranch review
Beautiful course. Great course layout. For the price, I’d expect GPS golf carts but that’s really my only small complaint. Highly recommend playing if you can get a hot deal!
