Oakhaven Golf Club
About
Oakhaven Golf Club's versatile layout appeals to a variety of different tastes and skill levels with two nines that are completely distinct. The front nine is more open with opportunities for both long hitters and precise shot makers to shine while the tighter back nine winds through rolling woodlands with more bunkers coming into play. There are also water hazards that come into play on several holes. In addition to the championship golf course, Oakhaven is also known throughout central Ohio for having some of the best and most expansive practice facilities. The course offers a 50-acre driving range with 33 heated, covered tees and 60 grass tees as well as two practice chipping greens with a sand bunker, a 5,000 square-foot putting green, and an indoor putting facility.

A tale of 2 9's
The front 9 is pretty wide open. It's a good warm up for the back. 6th green is basically the side of a hill. Was excited to have an eagle putt and left with a par. The back 9 is a completely different, and in my opinion, better course. Trees dictate your shots and line every hole, elevation changes, tight greens. Much preferred the back 9. Greens are maintained but not super fast as other reviewers have indicated. They roll true, are well groomed; about what you would expect from a higher tier public course. Overall nice track in the ~$35 range.
good, fun course
Had light rain for most of the round. Course handled the water well and I had a good time.
These greens are tough
Overall fun course and challenging. I've never used a 3 wood off the tee as much as I had to here. The greens are firm and very fast. Bring your A game in the chipping department.
a nice course
very different front and back 9's. wide open on the fron lots fo trees and tight onthe back. good course
Enjoyable round
Course was in great shape. Practice facility is still excellent. Had to keep ball in fairway, the rough was very thick. Greens were rolling very fast. Had great time.
Nice finish to a 20 year career in the United States Navy
I am by no means an avid golfer. I'm a 4 or 5 times per year hacker. I have been wanting to play a round at Oakhaven since it was developed when I was in high school. I joined the Navy and left town without ever getting the chance. I just retired from active duty, and on my last day in the Navy, I went golfing here. It was a beautiful day, and I did as good as I could have expected. Very enjoyable, from the staff to the greens. I'll be back to try to tackle some of those holes that cost me a few balls.
Open and spacious but has challenging hole layouts with water and sand.
Liked the course. Open but challenging. Well maintained.
Nice
Oakhaven is a very nice course with even nicer employees.
Good Value In Delaware County
Oakhaven is located just north of the City of Delaware. It offers a good value for the public player who wants to play a moderately challenging course without the level of traffic often found in Columbus area public courses.
The opening par 5 is fairly easy, which helps get the round going. But the second hole is deceptively challenging. By the time you get to number three, you realize, "These greens have fall offs on every side, and there are no guaranteed two putts here."
The front is open, and although winding through woods, the back nine plays fairly open as well. If you normally play from the white tees, you can move back to the blues without much of a problem, however don't kid yourself and play from the blacks. You will regret it when you get to number 11.
If Oakhaven were located closer to the Columbus area it would be better known. This makes it a real find for the golfer who wants to get away from the big city without having to drive more than 40 minutes to do so.
this course is challenging
this course is challenging, great driving range.fun!
this deal made a cheap day for golf
Nice day and the course was in good shape.
Only problem encountered was that it seemed to be most were playing in twosomes.
Weird design and poor service
I made my tee time on golf now, which was a great deal, but when I showed up they only had one cart available for the threesome I was playing with. They told us to "hang around until someone brought another cart back". We had to clean out the one that was sitting around and wait until 15 minutes after our tee time before we realized another cart wasn't coming. So we got a refund for the cart and one of my friends just walked with us. My second disappointment was that the greens were aerated without having any notice on golf now. As for the course I thought it was just awkward. You could tell it had been lengthened (most likely to get a tournament), but the tee boxes were in the oddest spots (way out of the way and always gave you an awful angle to the hole). They do have some nice holes though that were fun. Overall I'd give it a 3/10 for poor service, aerated greens, and just a weird layout.
This course is in great shape
The ground crews have done a good job of getting the leaves off the fairways. Also, for this late season, the tee boxes and greens are in excellent shape!
Great course
Still one of my favorite courses, if not my favorite, after all these years. Hadn't played it since 2000, and I am so glad I played it this year before the season ended. Challenging course but so much fun and beautiful. Only complaint was the greens had been aerated which is never fun, but its understandable this time of year. Go play this course!
One of the better courses in this area
I've played here many times over the years. It's always in good condition and an enjoyable course to play. I always like a course that is very different on the front vs the back nine.
STAFF WAS WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN!!
There was an outing and it was runing late. My tee time for 1:44 acutaly teed of at 3:00pm!!! Staff did not care because I was "Just a Golf Now customer, the group spent thousands"!
Many Positives
This is an above average Central Ohio course. It is well maintained and challenging. The front nine gives you the opened farmland country course Ohioans should be very familiar with, long if you play from the blue tees but playable. The hazards are fair and straight shots and course management are rewarded.
The back nine are a little different. Things tighten up. The fairways are narrower and the water and trees more pronounced. The back nine requires concentration. Your not going for as many big drives. It is time to be accurate.
The greens are harder to read
Beautiful golf course.
Can't beat it for the price. Nice golf course. Back nine is more challenging because the fairways are surrounded by trees.
First time but will def be back
Little bit of a drive from Columbus but it worth it. A little over priced outside of Columbus but worth if you get a good deal from golfnow.
