Located in San Marcos, Quail Creek Country Club offers classic central-Texas golf. The scenic Hill Country terrain provides the layout with an abundance of trees, clear blue lakes, and tall, lush grasses. The trees line the fairways and water hazards come into play on several holes. There are also bunkers and grassy waste areas carefully guarding most of the greens. The challenging course is a formidable test for even skilled golfers but four sets of tees allow players of all skill levels to adjust the round to their own handicap. In addition to the course, Quail Creek Country Club also offers a large practice range for golfers to use.

this course is a nice course
course was very nice, fairways needed work but other then that its a very nice course.
Goat Ranch
The $15 price with cart was a great price before you play but after, one might question this value. It is a real goat ranch..................very poor condition!!!!!!
You get what you pay for.
Overall you can't beat the course for the price. I would have given it a better rating if they would just take the time to blow some leaves. You shouldn't lose a ball in the fairway. The 18th green was a flag sticking out of a sea of leaves. It was impossible to putt on. This is an easy fix. Somebody just needs to gas up a blower.
Not the course it once was...
I was a bit dissapointed, but the last time I was here was almost a decade ago. I'm not sure if it was still an exclusive country club back then, but I remember the course being VERY nice. Thought I'd be getting a great deal on a 4-star course....
Sadly, no. Not the nice course I remember growing up.
Maybe its the time of year.
Jimmy Clay/Roy Kizer and Riverside are a step up for about the same price.
Good alternate course for a change in challenge.
Course has water on most holes, sand traps, and very sloped greens. Not long on yardage, but plenty of challenge on most holes.
excellent driving range and practice putting area
Very enjoyable course. Well maintained with nice greens. Having no ball cleaners on the course was a little strange,
This course requires attention.
The course sounded wonderful on Golfnow. The course has poor fairways. Greens were in great shape.
Short but fun track
Quail Creek CC was a joy to play. There were several tee times available and pace of play was perfect. The course overall was in good shape. There were a few areas that needed some attention, due to dead grass or weeds, but that did not affect play. The greens were true, but rolling a bit slow. Staff was friendly and helpful. The course was playing easy, but difficulty could be increased with faster greens and challenging pin placements.
Try it out, tough to beat for the money!
Quail Creek Course disappointing
The course sounded wonderful on Golfnow. We drove an hour to the course only to find poor fairways and greens. It was more like a cow pasture. We would not return.
At the time I played it was a complete dog track -- very disappointing.
I hate giving a bad review, but the one (1) time I played this course was NOT good. Granted, we are/were in a severe drought and I played in August. However, little attention was given to the fairways and greens. I counted four (4) types of grass on one particular green ... not counting the weeds on it. Again, maybe it was the drought and they had water/irrigation issues. Still, it looked like an old dying/dead country club from decades back that just didn't have the membership, the outside players, etc. to keep it healthy.
