Sammy Baugh
very nice 9 hole course that is extremely well maintained. You must keep your ball in the fairway to have a good round. Staff was friendly. Overall good experience.
Nice Value
If you get the discounted price this is a good value. It is part of the Texas Western College campus and is well maintained. 9 holes built around a small lake provides some challenges and water comes into play on 5 of the 9 holes. Greens are small table top, hard and fast. I will definitely be playing this course again.
Good course for weat TX
One of the nicest 9 hole courses in West TX. Staff was exceptionally friendly first time I played, however the second time I used golf now app and played at a discounted rate of almost 70%. This made the staff very upset and they weren't nearly as friendly this time. Will play again, but will continue to use the app to get good deals. Overall course is in good shape considering its in dry west TX, lots of water to avoid and greens are hard/fast.
Nice Course, No Rules
This is a very nice course, well maintained. Greens are small but they keep them in great condition. Good practice facilities, with a convenient driving range and a practice green with sand. The course is built around a small lake and there is the danger of getting your ball wet on several holes, and some of the greens are well bunkered. There are also several carries over some creeks that lead into the lake. All in all, a nice change from a lot of the flat and featureless courses you see in West Texas. The prices are decent as well, especially through Golf 18.
Played the course today and got behind a group of six. Spent an hour mostly waiting to get through the first two holes, then picked up my ball and went home. I have at times seen groups of up to seven on this course. The course is generally uncrowded, but on weekends allowing large groups like this totally wrecks the pace of play. After contemplating taking eight or nine hours to play 18 holes, I decided to leave. I was finding myself more frustrated than having fun.
