Blackhawk Golf Club sprawls across verdant, gently rolling terrain that provides a picturesque setting and ideal landscape for a round of golf. The family-run course has been one of central Ohio's most popular public golf courses since opening in 1964. The club has built its reputation on its friendly atmosphere and extremely affordable rates. Experienced golfers and beginners alike will find the course enjoyable thanks to the beautifully manicured fairways. The greens are slightly undulating and require a bit of strategy. There is a stream that cuts through the golf course as well as a number of small ponds that come into play on six holes. Bunkering is sparse but there are a few strategically placed along the greensides. Blackhawk Golf Club's 11th hole is notable for being one of the course's most scenic and also one of its most challenging.

Nice wooded course
Very enjoyable course. Made for walking, tees convenient to greens.
Great short course!
Lots of par 4's with lots of challenge! It's a great course, very well kept and since I got a deal for $14 for 18 it's a fantastic deal. Even for $30 it's a great play.
Will definitely be back to play more
Challenging Course
Great conditions and tough layout. A lot harder than the golf/cow pastures I usually play. Shots have to be accurate or you will be spending a lot of time in the ravines. Greens were fast and challenging for me. I enjoyed it and will be back.
My 1st Round at Blackhawk
Blackhawk is a delightful place in which to enjoy a round of golf. The wooded setting is absolutely beautiful and the course is designed to take advantage of this. Fortunately, I managed to hit just a few trees during my round and came away with a career low-round of 76! I'm a senior, so I benefited greatly from the shorter yardages off the tee. One player in our group, a young low-handicapper, played the tips and found that straight is much better than long at Blackhawk, after losing quite a few shots to the ball-hungry woods!
Love this course!
This is the course my husband and I played for a special anniversary on the recommendation of friends. Then our Columbus Women's Golf Association had a league here on Friday nights for years- during that time the course became increasingly women friendly. I love the rolling hills and that this is truly a walk in the park!
Great course for all skill levels.
Nestled away far from the city lies Blackhawk Golf Course. A well maintained course that uses both water and elevation effectively, this course is well worth checking out. When I went the greens had just been aerated, which made the greens unpredictable and challenging. However, I would recommend taking some time to drive out and try the course for yourself.
Well maintained and a wonderful experience
Course is far above average for its top shape maintenance. Well placed shots will be rewarded. A wonderful experience which I will repeat often.
still a well run course.
Greens were very fast for a public course even after the rain we had recently. Course recommended we go off the back first because it would move better and we played all 18 in under 4 hours.
I am always pleased with Blackhawk for the price.
At ~$25 a tee time via this website, this course is a very solid value. The fairways and greens are almost always lush. The tee boxes are not bad but often times are not the most level. This course is not super difficult but it is not easy either. Some holes have very narrow fairways and also there is a moderate amount of water throughout the course. Also there are some large elevation changes which can make things interesting when picking clubs. I have always been happy with the condition of this course and never have to wait too long.
The greens were in excellent shape
Greens were in excellent shape however the fairways were diseased or something. It required moving the ball to grass. There has been a lot of rain maybe too much for the fairways. The ladies tee boxes are small and several tee shots had to go around tree branches.. Overall its an average course. Ladies yardage is less than 5000 yards, however several shots are uphill and it plays long.
Good course/slow play
I have always liked Blackhawk. A fair golf challenge, not long but tight fairways and fast greens make it challenging but not punishing. The last couple of years they have improved the conditions to where they almost are at country club level. My biggest compalint is that they tolerate slow play. There is no excuse to tee off at 2:30 on a Sunday and walk off the course past 7:30.
Nice Course
Played here for very little $ and was expecting to get what I paid for but was pleasantly surprised. Greens were in OUTSTANDING condition. Fairways were average and had some major issues on 2 or 3 holes but otherwise they were neat and well kept. Tee boxes were in good shape too. There was a group ahead of us playing in denim but they kept a reasonable pace. Otherwise It was a nice change from my usual course and for the price I will definitely return.
Fairways were in bad shape
I enjoy Blackhawk. its a challenging but fair little track. That said, the fairways were the worst I've seen them in 20 years. I don't know what got them, fungus, bugs etc. But you rarely found yourself on grass in the fairway, and the grass that was there was shaggy. I won't play it again this year.
Soggy but fun
We consistently got rain so the course was a little soggy. But it was still a great time! Challenging enough to keep you focused, but not over the top.
Tough course. Good layout. A bit crowded.
Course was in great condition. Greens were quick and true. Course plays long for the tightness and number of trees. Sort of a shooting gallery in some areas. Lots of balls flying around. Gets distracting with so many other golfers in line of sight.
This is a great value.
Balckhawk isn't a championship test, but it is a nice place to play a round of golf. It doesn't feel overwhelmingly long or tight, but the greens were in great shape and the course was very well maintained. Most of the par fours were mid irons in, playing from the back tees, and the fives were reachable if you have a longer game. I didn't find myself in any sand at Blackhawk but there is a little around the greens that could be challenging if you found yourself in them.
Over all I really can;'t say anything bad about the golf course. For the price you can't find many better places to play. Give Blackhawk a chance.
It was a very good experience. I would love to play there again and the price was unbeatable.
I enjoyed the course and it was in very good condition. I would love to play there again and the price through golfnow was hard to beat.
Challenging, fun, pretty
Good course and a great value. It is narrow and challenging as it plays long with uphill shots as several others have said. The greens are always kept very nicely.
