Windcrest Golf Club
About
Formerly a private club, Windcrest Golf Club is now open for public play. This nine-hole course is tight in some spots with a traditional layout that calls for a variety of different shots. Tree-lined fairways and elevated greens protected by bunkers require sharp short game skills and accurate placement off the tees. Water hazards also come into play on two holes. With four sets of tees, the golf course is perfect for juniors and beginners who want some practice or avid golfers wanting a quick round. One of the most appealing things about Windcrest Golf Club is that it doesn't get especially crowded on weekends, meaning tee times are rarely required.

Golf course
I really enjoyed playing this course. Enjoyed the layout and the challenges it presented.
Just Plain Fun
This is the course for average players and beginners. Great exercise because it is easily walkable. Very well maintained with a dedicated maintenance crew. Great place to enjoy yourself with friendly people.
Don’t waste your time.
Staff was rude. Wasn’t allowed to get our cart till 10 mins before our tee time for some reason. Possums running across the practice area. Pace of play was horrible waiting 15 to 20 mins for a shot. This was my 4th time at the course, and it will be my last. Don’t waste your time!
Nice little course
Tree lined Fairways are a little tight. With bunkers in front of some greens, a little strategy needed on approach shots.
Windcrest golf course
Average course all be it, it was the winter season.
Simple but fun
Only 9 holes but plenty of tees to play from. Some holes have tough approach shots. It’s a municipal style course, don’t expect 5 star amenities, the carts were all different brands and ages. Course wasn’t in the best condition but there is a drought going on. Plenty of crab grass and carpet grass. The par 3’s are fun to play. Easily walkable course. It was a relaxed Saturday round and I was out there to have fun and I did.
Surprisingly green tee boxes and fairways. Enjoyed the risk reward features on several holes. The greens putted very true. Great powder sand in traps.
All the above. Enjoyed playing a full 18 in about 3 hrs.
Nice 9 hole course
Played 18 during COVID-9 situation.; staff appropriately careful of contact but very warm and helpful. Course is a bit tight, as it is situated within a neighborhood, so many holes run parallel. It was my first day with new clubs (lucky me!) and these shafts are stiffer, so I was losing a few shots (particularly driver and 3W) to the right and getting in the middle of other groups coming the other way on a parallel hole.
Greens and fairways in good shape - great for knocking/keeping the rust off. Many tee choices(five, I think) so good for all levels of players.
Pleasantly surprised
Played this track today. Got a hot deal for $10 for 18 and a cart. Course was in really good shape. It was busy and slow, but everyone was friendly and understanding.
This is a great course to work on your accuracy and shot shaping. Leave driver at home, you can easily manage this course without it. The greens are in great shape and folly very true.
The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.
Fun course, will be back soon.
Nice round
Nice course, great staff. Will certainly play it again.
Good job folks!!!
I usually don't write reviews (positive or negative) But I had to say something about my round at Windcrest today.
They are REALLY keeping the little course that could in great shape! Tee boxes were in excellent condition. Not as many leaves on the fairways, and the greens were rolling true. I even noticed the ball and club washers were painted and filled with water!
The staff has always been very friendly, but I wanted to let someone know that the work being done to maintain the course is not going unnoticed. Kudos to the maintenance crew! Can't wait to tell all my friends about the NEW Windcrest!!!
Nugget In San Antonio
Didn't have high expectations but this little 9 hole proved to be just right for a quick, nicely challenging round. Greens rolled amazingly true and smooth. Some tight fairways and several doglegs. One par 5. All in all, very pleased. Will definitely be back.
The Best
One of my favorite courses. It may not be the most amazing courses you'll ever see but the staff keep me and my family go back there time after time. The value for play is great too.
Great Option @ Windcrest!
Great location, tee time flexibility, course is real good condition and great value.
Great little track
Fun little course might seem like no big deal but you do have to pick and play your shots so don’t underestimate this hidden gem!
Great for beginners
You play this course twice for 18 holes but it's worth the money to get out of the house and play a round with the guys. Staff was really friendly, it's not the perfect golf course but it was great for beginners or if you're out of practice. There are a few dog legs, sand traps, and one water hazard which made it enjoyable especially if you don't loose a ball all day. Course could use a little funding to renovate and fix a few things but carts, food and staff were decent.
A nice 9 hole course
I like the course as a tune up and working out prior to taking on a full 18 hole course. People in charge are friendly as well as helpful.
