Windcrest Golf Club
About
Formerly a private club, Windcrest Golf Club is now open for public play. This nine-hole course is tight in some spots with a traditional layout that calls for a variety of different shots. Tree-lined fairways and elevated greens protected by bunkers require sharp short game skills and accurate placement off the tees. Water hazards also come into play on two holes. With four sets of tees, the golf course is perfect for juniors and beginners who want some practice or avid golfers wanting a quick round. One of the most appealing things about Windcrest Golf Club is that it doesn't get especially crowded on weekends, meaning tee times are rarely required.

Ok
First time playing. Didn’t know 9 hole course. Was ok for the 13$ I paid. Nothing fancy. However, lots of slow play. Only got in 14 holes Bc ran out of time. Course was in good shape
Challenging "Mighty Little" 9-Hole Course
This is my 2nd review. I've played this course about half a dozen times now, and just love it. Tight fairways to keep the player honest. Adequate water features. Staff is ALWAYS so friendly. Mowing crews turn off their machines during tee-offs, so respectful to players. I love these older, smaller courses. You STILL have to put the ball in the hole no matter how long the fairways are.
Trapped in the 1960s
This course started out over 50 years ago as the
private playground of a group of retired Air Force officers. Fast forward today most of those LTCs
have passed on.
The course had to go public to survive. It has only
nine holes. You can play from different tees to add
variety.
There are lots of mature trees here and the fairways are covered with grass.
. They do a lot of watering and that causes pooling on the course.
The greens are good and they are not cut at the same height. Some greens are Stimped at 11 and others are as low as 5. That's tough to gauge.
The par threes are easy, number four is a dogleg right, and #9 is a straightaway par five.
As a Muny, everybody plays here. The walking family, and two of the slowest polecats ever. They dilly-rallied on every hole as we waited for every shot.
Sometimes golf can frustrating.
Friendly Staff & Challenging Tight Fairways
Staff is friendly. They act like they really appreciated my business! Always nice to feel welcome on a golf course, no snobbishness. Never discount a smaller, urban course. I actually prefer these little tough guys. Narrow fairways, tree lined. Enough water to keep things interesting. Grounds were beautiful. Especially greens. Watch out-- greens are FAST and do NOT break.
Nice little course tucked away in Windcrest. Never too busy, at this fairly easy 9 hole course. Well maintained with a friendly staff. Great for the money if you dont mind a 9 hole course without a range.
9 hole course
This is a nine hole course you play twice. For men you play whites first nine then blues second nine. Course is is decent condition but overall yardage is short. Carts need to be upgraded, our cart was in poor condition, brakes didn't work well and ran out of juice on second nine.
Mr Barrera
Over all had a good time course was in good shap had a few bad spots that was muddy.
Great practice course.
Windcrest is a 9 hole course tucked in an older subdivision. Although not a long course, it has multiple tee boxes that can accommodate most any level of play. The greens and fairways were great, but there was a bit of overwatering in some areas.
Windcrest staff is doing a great job on course conditions considering the extreme hot weather we have had in August.
Nice little 9 hole course. Worth the stop.
People scoff at 9 hole courses but this course is no cinch. Trees. Trees. Trees. You better hit it straight on this course otherwise you're in some serious tree trouble. Makes for a challenging course. One par 5 and a few par 4s with some very interesting par 3s. Would recommend this course to anyone. Excellent Price with very good conditions for the price. Greens are set at a very good pace for beginners, in my opinion. Not too many wild breaks and the speed isn't unreal.
Smooth playing
Smooth playing throughout the course. The Greens are great. Water is found almost on every course, but you have ice too. Wow, that was awesome. The only downside was I had trouble finding the ball because of leaves on the course. Nature in charge at times.
Great Course
Small 9 hole course, right in the middle of the city of Windcrest. Fairly easy, and the course was in great condition. Finish in under three hours with no rush or crowds. Will definitely return.
Great Fun
You could pay alot more, but not have as much fun at better courses. Distance is agreeable for amateurs, yet very challenging to better golfers. Will return often!
Hidden Gem
This is a great little 9 hole course. Big bang for the buck. Well maintained greens and (narrow) fairways. The fully loaded jumbo dog is as good as it gets
Great course for the cost
Notes that need to be noted on golf now website No driving range and 9hole course
Good for working on irons
Good course for my kids to continue to practice. Good to work on iron game.
Needed some rain, but overall good experience.
