beautiful course
Played this course after visiting the 5 national parks of Utah. Excellent course! Beautifully maintained & not too difficult for this 18 handicapper.
DON/LARRY
CANNOT HELP BUT HAVE A FUN DAY AT THIS COURSE. GREAT PLACE AND THE PRICE WAS RIGHT.WE PLAYED TWO ROUNDS. FIRST ROUND 39.00/SECOND ROUND 23.00 TILL THE SUN GOES DOWN. I WILL RECOMEND TO ANYBODY GOING TO ST. GEORGE UTAH
Great Course
As always, this is the best kept course in the St George area. Difficult and beautiful. Without a doubt, the best pro shop anywhere.
BEGINNING GOLFERS
My review is in no way a complaint about Sky Mountain ... it is about beginning golfers learning proper etiquette to eliminate slow play that interferes with the enjoyment of more experienced golfers. There are par 3 and executive courses for beginning golfers to learn to play the game and proper etiquette to speed up play. Unfortunately we were paired with two golfers who had only played a couple of rounds prior to Sky Mountain. They both usually hit at least 2 balls deep into the rough from the tee box, and at least 2 balls deep into the rough from the fairway. I am not exaggerating when I say one of the players took at least a minute or more on every shot changing his stance and alignment before hitting the ball. The other player would get on his knees on the tee box and align his ball like many players line up a putt on the green. The course marshal was very courteous and understanding regarding the situation. Our group was at least 2 holes behind, and from the elevated tee box on #5 I could see 6 groups backed up on holes 3 and 4 because our group was so slow. The marshal allowed us to split up into twosomes to try and speed up play. My wife and I have single digit handicaps, and by #10 we had 2 foursomes let us play through. As we were putting on #10 green we saw the 2 players we were originally paired with go by toward #11 tee. They were waiting for us when we got to #11 tee. They said they had skipped holes 9 and 10 without asking the groups if they could play through. They said we could go ahead of them as a twosome, or we could join up as a foursome again. My wife and I were so frustrated at this time with their lack of etiquette and poor golf behavior we stopped our round and returned to the clubhouse. We don't fault Sky Mountain or the staff for our frustrating day at the course, because they had no way of being aware of the inexperience of the 2 players we were paired with. We have enjoyed playing with many inexperienced players before, but somewhere they had learned proper golf etiquette and maintaining pace of play. We just wish there was some way that beginning golfers could learn about proper golf etiquette and pace of play before attempting to play a beautiful and challenging course like Sky Mountain. Again, we commend the Sky Mountain staff for handling the situation the best way possible given the circumstances.
take plenty of water nice course
i played when it was 105. they had plenty of water coolers through out. nice shape. is a fun course to play. wind was ok.
Sky mountain
Staff was very friendly, views on the 16th and 18th holes are spectacular.
spectacular views
Great course. Greens were aeriated. Which made ittough to judge them.
Windy Sky Mountain
Played on an extremely windy day but still enjoyed the golf course
Course conditions from tee to greens was excellent
Really impressive scenery
Not a long course and some holes a bit tight so the strong wind made it difficult at times
Lunch area could be improve
Bring your A game and wind pants
The course is very scenic and the conditions were excellent. Better hit straight or bring lots of balls. Very few parallel fairway mostly desert surroundings. More houses on the back than front.
Limited food and no beverage cart on the day we played.
It was very windy when we played which was a challenge but for sure we would play again
Windy track
Quality of course maintenance is not up to par with Mesquite area courses. The course location (Hurricane, Utah) should have been a warning - the wind was awful. Others we talked to said wind is the norm. This should be an advisory in course comments. Would not play this course again.
A gem except for pace of play
A great course with great views. Only problem was pace of play. Were traveling through on our way home to Canada so booked first tee time so we could get on road. Played front in 1.5 hours. When we got to the back there were at least 3 groups ahead of us as they start people on the back 9. Waited at least 10 minutes on every hole! No marshal to stop slow play and ball picking. Took almost 3 hours to play back
Great value
Excellent and challenging course. Great value for the price.
Shy mountain
Everything excellent enjoyed the. Round staff excellent
Spectacular scenery
Sky Mountain was a very pleasant experience. The
staff from the pro shop to the restaurant was very
friendly and very helpful. The views from the course are spectacular. We found the course to be in very good shape, especially the greens, for playing it
in the middle of winter season. We would go back
there in a minute.
Majestic Views
This is an awesome municipal course. The course is in great condition. Pace of play was great. The views are unbelievable. Anyone with the chance to play this course should not pass it up!!!
Sky Mountain experience
Great views all around. Friendly pro shop staff. Greens are fast - but some of the greens are silly in the slope. ( no chance of two-putting)
Been there, will do it again
If you can get off #1 in good shape, you have it made.
Very Nice Course
I enjoyed my round. It is a very nice course. I look forward to the opportunity to play it again.
The views are great
usually windy but this day calm. Very nice for this time of year. All greens great and equal in condition. Very consistent.
One of a kind scenic experience.
In spite of recent over-seeding, the course was in great condition. The greens were a 9/10 and the fairways were very well maintained. Club House staff were very helpful.
