Denison Golf Club at Granville
About
Designed by Donald Ross in 1924, Denison Golf Club at Granville has a classic design that deftly utilizes the natural landscape of rolling hills covered with forests. The layout is fair and not overly challenging, providing an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels. The elevated, undulating greens and dramatic elevation changes are the course's trademarks. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout that present further challenges. The golf course finishes with its signature hole, a par 4 that is easily the most dramatic of any on the layout. The hole is known for the 125-foot drop from the tee to the fairway, after which a second shot to a small, two-tiered green is required. In addition to the golf course, Denison offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range, short game area, and putting green.

nice
Greens were fine. Everything else was great. The back 9 is significantly better than the front. 5 of 5 for the back 9
Course plays longer than yardage on card.
The difficulty of the greens, long rough, and soft conditions made the course play longer than what is on the card. I played 1 up from the tips. For this round, it would have been smarter to be 2 up from the tips. As Jack and PGA promotion goes -- Play it Forward . . . something to keep in mind.
This is a great golf course, especially original holes.
Wonderful track, excellent pro staff , course super. and grounds crew, great beauty with excellent views and course condition
One of my favorites
This was my first time playing Granville for about 4 years but the course is just as good as it ever was. The course was in great shape and the greens were very fast but true. I will definitely be back again soon. Played 27 and it was only $8 for the 3rd nine which was a no brainer.
Beautiful Coures
Played here years ago and always remembered how much I liked it, but never made it back for some reason until now. Great course in great shape that winds it way through some beautiful houses. Can't wait to go back.
Picturesque course
Played on a Mondaty at noon. I was the only one there. Creeks cross fairways, a lot of elevation change on the back. A great time.
great course, but fairways and greens were not in the best shape
Fairways were being aeriated, and the greens had not fully recovered from aeriation in August. Sand traps have had no attention recently, I suspect. We have had no recent bad weather so the maintenance staff must have been busy with aeriation. This was not the usual course condition.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful well maintained course.
Elevation changes and challenging greens.
course is a challenge, lots of up hill down hill lies Donald Ross Design ,greens have slope to them.
Great course for the money. very challenging for the mid to high handicapper. Only played this course once. beautiful piece of land.
I love this course, but after playing it yesterday, my only complaint would be that the greens were unusually slow compared to prior rounds there.
I have played this course for many years and I really like the layout, elevation changes and challenging greens. However, the greens were very slow yesterday relative to what I have experienced on the course in the past. I hope they address this soon. 9/25/13
Play this Donald Ross gem ASAP
A beautiful old style course designed by Donald Ross. Most of the greens are elevated, requiring high approach flight. Greens are small, extremely quick, with subtle undulations. Easy to 3 putt, even on smaller greens.
Unbelievable homes surround many of the back nine holes.
#18 tee box is 100+ feet above landing area; gorgeous view of Granville from here.
If you can get a decent rate on golfnow, jump on it, and play it yet this Fall
A Donald Ross gem
This a truly an excellent golf course. A classic Donald Ross design. Very well thought out, with many optical illusions on the greens. Fun, and challenging!
This course is challenging and beautiful.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this course. The Pro was accomodating and knowledgeable. The pace was brisk and the course was in good shape. It is definitely worth the drive from Cbus to visit this course.
Great Donald Ross Design
Outstanding layout in the hills around Granville. Mixture of short and long pars 4s and the par 5s have tough approaches from side hills lies. Picturesque views from elevated tees and uphill approach shots make this course a real challenge. The ball seems to funnel away from the hole on many approach shots. Many of the fairways are sloped that shrink the landing area of tree lined fairways.
This course has great features
The course that was maintained very well.
Also, I can be excited back 9H very much.
Great old time layout!
Defiantly has the feel of a course that's been around for a long time and is generally in great shape with moderately breaking fairly fast greens. Many challenging holes that require accurate tee shots from tees that offer great vistas, especially number 18. I remember the first time I played, pulling up to the tee, all I could say was...WOW!!!
Definitely a fun course to play...that I look forward going back to!
Course is very picturesque and challenging.
I played the course on a Monday late in October. Not many people on the course and I didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff. I had a great deal price wise, but the normal course rate of $40some dollars is reasonable. The course is very pretty, very challenging, and always well maintained. Need to stay below the hole on the greens!
