Denison Golf Club at Granville

Staff was very friendly. Clubhouse was small and plain, no ambiance. Hole layout was good and not confusing. 18th tee is very picturesque.

We drove a bit to play there and the course was really nice. Also the surroundings. Will definitely play again and take friends! Club house staff very accomodating as well !

I never score well on this course but I love playing it. Great value and a solid course.

Played the course a second time because the greens were challenging.

This is a Donald Ross Classic. They just don't make courses like this anymore. Challenging layout with green that slope severely, but are interesting and true. Excellent conditions for a public layout. Just wish I lived closer so I could play everyday!

I've never heard a negative comment about this course and my experience there has always been great. My rounds have run just over 2 hours on a Friday evening to 4ish hours on a Sunday morning. Great layout and well maintained.

play the course all the time but every week. We like to switch it up, but this is one of our favorite course to play

I really like this course. It's worth the 40 minute ride from my house. I'd play it more if it were closer. Feels like every hole is unique. Good challenge of golf but it doesn't beat you up. The one criticism I have is the sand traps. The sand isn't very good. It's more like crumbly dirt than sand. If they had better sand I'd rate this course with 5 stars.

I play all over the US and this course has great bang for the buck. Nice layout, tricky greens, nice views and a little bit of elevation. A nice example of how length isn't everything. I will play there again the next time I am in Columbus.

Course is in great shape, fairways and greens are very well maintained and offered a good mix of challenge and forgivefulness.

I went to Denison University and never played at the course during my college days due to lack of funds. But I've already played it four times this summer and I love the track. I love all the views from the tee boxes, especially on the backside, and I'm a huge fan of how quick they keep their greens for this being a public course. The subtle undulations/contours of the greens make them difficult to read but they always roll smooth. Be aware that almost all of the greens have a false front and if you miss short your ball is probably going to roll back. It's a great track that is worth the money. I'm a 12 handicap and it plays pretty true to that as I shot an 83 from the blacks.

Have played Denison/Granville twice in the last 3 weeks and will probably be going back again in the next couple weeks.

I only played once last year and the course seems to be in much better shape -- greens are rolling faster and overall upkeep seems better than I recall.

Classic Donald Ross layout (with some alterations made in recent years) and beautiful scenery. A real bargain too -- even during peak hours. Worth the drive out to Granville this summer.

Course as always challenging but fair. Conditions were very good. Only complaint was pace of play was slow due to crowded conditions. Recommendations: 1) Space your tee times farther apart to help improve pace of play. 2) Do not allow walkers on weekends till after 3 pm. Anything longer than 4 hours for a round is to long. Speed of play has a major effect on the level of enjoyment for the round. Still a favorite course in Central Ohio. A Donald Ross classic.

Great course! Always fun to play.

The course was in great shape. No standing water even with all of the rain we have had lately. The changes in elevation are particularly challenging on this course and the left to right and right to left fairways on two of the holes gave us some trouble. Beautiful area though and the view from the 18th tee box is worth the trip.

Great views on every hole. Demanding greens that are fast and sloped. If you're not playing well just enjoy the views from this beautiful course.

Great Donald Ross course. Awesome location and excellent views of the town of Granville and Dennison from the 18th hole. Greens are always a challenge as with most Donald Ross courses. Have to get on the right side of the hole. Playing in March, not much roll and not quite as fast as normal. Love playing this course and wish could get here more often. The staff is always very friendly. Don't miss out on one of the hidden gems in Central Ohio.

Worth the ride and a true test of your skills; especially the greens.

The golf course was in great condition. I was worried about leaves, but the crew had done an excellent job of clearing the course. The pace of play was fast and the greens were also fast with challening pin placements and slope variations. The scenic looks from various tee boxes were breattaking. We enjoyed the round very much. I would definetely recommend the course.
