Homestead Golf Club
About
Formerly named Crater Springs Golf Course, Homestead Golf Club is located in Midway, a secluded valley between Heber and the wasatch Mountains. It was designed by Senior PGA Tour player Bruce Summerhays who lives in the area. With countryside property overlooked by 10,000 foot mountains he had a very scenic canvas to build upon. The finished course winds past red barns and meadows, up and down hills and across streams and gullies.

Very nice course and friendly staff
Like most people booking through GolfNow I received the best rate going. Great deal! The staff was super friendly. The cart "boy" at the bag drop - Joey was very helpful and cleaned my clubs up when we were done. The course was overall in very good condition. Fairways were mowed and greens were consistent. Pace of play was what you want.
Gorgeous course for good price
What a pleasure playing such a beautiful course. It was in great condition and on most holes had ample areas for imperfect shots. We played in the afternoon so we got a great price thru golf now. It is a very scenic layout.
Great course for the price
Played this course while on vacation, couldn't believe the price, was only $25 per person. The course was in pretty good shape and the surrounding area is gorgeous.
crater springs
Excellent value great layout. Makes you think and calls for some creative shots. Will keep on my must play list.
One more new course added to our list
My husband and I are challenging ourselves to see how many different golf courses in Utah we can golf. With there being well over 100 this is a big task. So being able to find deals on golfnow.com really helps as we all know golf isn't an inexpensive sport. We really enjoyed Crater Springs it was challenging however not intimidating, and the scenery is an added bonus. This is one course that is on our list to play again.
May 27th
One of my favorite courses. The Mountain seeing is spectacular
course improvements
Made a last minute tee time the night before my round and after a long night working. Couldn't pass up the price. 8:00am is early for me but great for beating the Sunday morning crowd. Love the new course improvements. I can't wait to show the guys. Overall a great day and great local course. I was out to early for the little food pit stop to be open. Always enjoy the ladies who work there. Very friendly and quick to offer a few kind words. A must to stop into for a quick hotdog or beverage. thanks again. see you soon.
Greens
I love this course. You can't go wrong with any of the courses in Midway. That said, I've never seen this course in worse condition. The greens were slow and a few of them were in very poor condition. The grass in the fairways was fairly long in some areas. This could just be due to the long winter and how early in the season we are in. I've played the course a lot and I would be very surprised if conditions don't dramatically improve as the weather improves.
great value for the money
course was in great shape, super fast greens
pace of play was great
Great course!
Absolutely great course. Great greens, nothing but true rolls.
Course is narrow, bring your A game (accuracy) off the tee.
Great challenge. Will be back for sure.
This is a great course, very well kept and excellent greens.
This is a beautiful course in a more beautiful setting in the Wasatch Mountains. Could not ask for better service and great prices. This is a must play.
A Must Golf Situation
If you are in the Park City area, I would highly recommend adding Crater Springs to your list of must play courses. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The course was in excellent condition. Our 4some consisted of players of varying handicaps yet all of us felt challenged. We enjoyed the course so much we are playing there a 2nd time this week. I highly recommend making a reservation to soak in the "crater" after golf.
Good, not great
I returned to play this course after I heard it had been refreshed under new ownership. It is pretty much the same. The course has never suited my eye. Certainly not a bad outing. But the routing and layout feels awkward. Houses and condos encroach on some holes. With nearby courses offering better value, I'll be playing elsewhere.
Very interesting course
The Homestead gives you two experiences. The front nine has a lot of elevation changes while the back snakes through beautiful homes on the valley floor. Steams meander through the course requiring precise placement off the tee. At 7,000 and change from the tips, it places a premium on accurate tee shots with driver not needed on many holes. Greens are large with most sloping back to front, so leaving the ball under the hole is the name of the game. You will not find two holes alike and, whatever you do, unless you crush the ball, don't try to cut the corner on No. 1. A mid iron is all you need to position yourself to cut it on the second shot.
Great price for a great course
Course was in great condition.. Played pretty fast when I played.. Pretty challenging course as well.. Highly recommend and you get some great prices on golfnow!
Beautiful environment
It is hard to match the scenery in this mountainside course. There are lots of holes where players must measure their risk/reward odds, either being conservative and settling for the par or bogey, or chancing a more dangerous shot for a potential birdie. The GPS in the cart seemed to have accurate distances to the pin, not just to the center of the green, which is a useful feature. The mountainous layout results in many necessary altitude adjustments for club selection. Fairways are well maintained, and greens reasonably intact and on the fast side for Utah. The cart assistants at the parking lot are attentive and eager, usually local High School students.
Beautiful Setting
Thoroughly enjoyed playing at Crater Springs golf course. The course was well maintained and is in a beautiful setting. We saw deer and other wildlife. It was a great day of golf.
Crater Spings, formerly Homestead-New Name But Same Fun
Played Sunday morning after not having played in 4-5 years. I was glad to see that although they changed the name, the course was pretty much the same. Since last time I played, it has become a little more mature, and a lot more houses have been added around the course. There have been some slight changes, and a little lengthening. A few water hazards and stream rerouting have added to the personality of this fum golf course. To me, it feels like it plays a little more like a traditional golf course than before. Less opportunity to try and cut the corners, and the trees are a little taller. All in all, I recommend that if you haven't played there in a while, make a tee time and enjoy a great mountain course. Great staff, good services and played at fair pace. Good golfnow pricing.
Quiete and serene
This course was excellent. It was challenging for my first time out, but I believe if I were able to play it a few more times it could become a much easier course. I enjoyed the quiet ambiance of the course. The setting felt like a quite farm town with streams and ponds along the course and barns scattering the horizon. Hopefully I will be playing this course again very soon.
Crater Springs continues to improve
Crater Springs (formally Homestead) is continually improving the condition of the course as well as its playability. All the holes are a fair test of one's ability, and the par 4 18th is as difficult as any par 4 in the area.
