Raccoon Valley Golf Course
About
Raccoon Valley Golf Course (formerly known as Raccoon International Golf Club) sprawls across gently rolling woodlands, featuring scenic vistas of the surrounding countryside. The course is known for being home to the longest par 5 in the state, the notorious 17th hole. This treacherous hole measures in at a devilish 666 yards that will challenge even the longest hitters. Although the terrain is mostly flat and open, there are some surprisingly dramatic undulations in the greens that will cause tricky uneven lies. There are several lakes that come into play throughout as well as a number of strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the penultimate hole, notable holes at Raccoon Valley include the par-4 eighth, which requires a 220-yard carry, and the 11th, a par 3 that plays over a lake to a two-tiered green guarded by a bunker.

Mow the grass
Course conditions were top 3 worst I have ever experienced in my life. Long grass, including the fairways. Course in dire need of regular watering as everything was baked out. Garbage tee box and green maintenance. I’m surprised they are even letting people out on this course right now.
A Beginner Course
This course would be fine if you just started playing and don’t mind a 20 min plus per hole pace. You get what you pay for. Not a bad layout just brutally slow.
In rough shape
The course is in bad shape, but it’s not expensive. The scenery is beautiful and the course is well laid out. It’s a shame it’s not been kept up.
Decent course for the price
First time golfing near Columbus and wow it was challenging finding a tee time anywhere before 2pm on a Saturday. Raccoon Valley popped up and was a little drive but well worth it for the price. Good scenery, and the course is set up nice. The greens were fast but didn't tend to stick. Where this course really lacks is its tee boxes are in rough shape, mostly dirt with few grass spots. Also, there were some greens with exposed dirt but it wasn't the worst thing ever. I would probably go back for a casual/fun round but nothing competitive. All in all I had a good time!
Poor sportsmanship and signs of neglect on greens and overall course
One bad hit from my son, he is a new golfer and only 17yrs old. on the 4th hole after he hit the ball we called out Four plenty loud enough and after the ball came to a stop close to a group teeing off, they proceeded to say if you can’t hit better than that then leave. Then he proceeded to throw my sons ball into the trees. What an idiot! This doesn’t reflect on the course but it needed told. Also the course maintenance was really bad. Greens looked terrible too. Bare spots and bumpy cart lanes including one bridge that was a hazard to just drive over because how bumpy it was. Sorry to say it’s not likely I will ever return.
Maintenance Needed
Course has been neglected for some time now. Rough is too long, the greens need swept off in the mornings and the sand traps have no sand. What's left of the cart paths are in horrible condition.
Terrible Course
Conditions are aweful. Greens look like they’ve been used as a range with multiple divots on almost every hole. Fairways are full of puddles and mud. There’s almost no cart path so you have to drive around these huge puddles. Very confusing where some of the holes are. Wouldn’t recommend.
Rude Lying Staff
Had a tee time for 11:12 showed up and called because they were somehow closing the course when the sky was clear. They told us that tee times were moved to 12 for us, So we waited for an hour in the parking lot and showed up at 12 and they tell us that they were “reassessing” at 12 which was a lie. This wasn’t said on the phone. Won’t be back here waited an hour for nothing and drove a hour wasting gas. Won’t be recommending this course to any friends and won’t be back.
Great layout
This can be a beautiful golf course as it was 30-40 years ago. I know the new highway changed things. Hopefully with the county growing things will change to make this nice again
Took the family
No one bothered us. Took the family and had a great time.
Simple layout great starter course.
Awful course and wasn’t mowed. Tee boxes had taller grass than the fairways.
Pace of play was horrible and conditions were atrocious. Grass was so high we were losing balls greens are thick and slow. It was only 14$ so I got what I paid for
