Raccoon Valley Golf Course
About
Raccoon Valley Golf Course (formerly known as Raccoon International Golf Club) sprawls across gently rolling woodlands, featuring scenic vistas of the surrounding countryside. The course is known for being home to the longest par 5 in the state, the notorious 17th hole. This treacherous hole measures in at a devilish 666 yards that will challenge even the longest hitters. Although the terrain is mostly flat and open, there are some surprisingly dramatic undulations in the greens that will cause tricky uneven lies. There are several lakes that come into play throughout as well as a number of strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the penultimate hole, notable holes at Raccoon Valley include the par-4 eighth, which requires a 220-yard carry, and the 11th, a par 3 that plays over a lake to a two-tiered green guarded by a bunker.

Nice option for the time and price
This was the first time we played the course. For this time of year it was in good shape. My only complaints were the pace of play. We were a 4 some and we had to wait on a 2 some on every hole. We even had a cart break down and we still waited. I honestly believe that the course over booked for this time of year. People spend a lot more time looking for balls when there are leaves everywhere. This does not help the pace of play. The 2some in front of us were seniors and they at times were waiting on the 4 some to get off the green before hitting. We stopped after 14 holes. We were at a 5 hour plus pace. and there were 3 4somes behind us. When Fall comes, they need to give an extra few minutes between tee off times. It was really slow out there. Other then that and the dead cart, we have no complaints. I will come in the spring next year when the pace maybe Faster.
Pass on this course
Ruts in the fairway. Ruts on cart paths and on the course will give you a bad back. Greens were shaggy. When I mentioned it to the lady working in the clubhouse she said the mower has been broken 4 or 5 days. The sign by the entrance states under new management, which isn't necessarily a good thing.
Great layout and price.
A little slow, but it was a full weekend morning. Staff was great. Course has improved 150% over the past 2 seasons.
Veteran owned
This course has a good layout and the staff is working on improvements.
Goat Ranch
This course has a lot of potential. The greens were in good shape, they are large, very inconsistent from green to green. If they don't start doing some maintenance on this course they will have to by 4x4 side by sides, the cart paths are that bad. There are a lot better courses in the area in this price point.
