Round Valley Golf Course
About
Round Valley Golf Course is located in Morgan, Utah which is about 30 minutes east of Ogden City. It is privately owned but is open to the public. It's the only golf course in the area so it does cater to the local golf scene but the staff and locals generally go out of there way to make foreigners feel at home. A few amenities that set Round Valley apart from other courses in the area are the camping facilities and an on-site bar and lounge. The camp sites are located between the fairways and the Weber River so guests can enjoy fishing and outdoor cooking in addition to a round of golf. Reserve and pay for camping in the golf course clubhouse. The course itself is made up of two 9-hole courses that were built over 20 years apart. The front 9 is the older and includes many mature trees and large sand bunkers that have grown deeper with age. The back 9 is younger and the use of modern earth moving and grading equipment has given the tees and fairways a sharper definition. Several streams, ditches, ponds and areas of long wild rough are present to hinder the player from tee to green. The longer holes are fairly open and allow players to let loose for distance. The shorter holes tend to favor accuracy as they contain most of the severe hazards.

once upon a time there was a nice little course known as Round Valley
This is a great lay out in a fantastic setting. Several ponds, small creeks and the Weber River grace this course but the new ownership has not taken care of it. The greens were slow and bumpy and there were hard dry areas along the fairways. The worst part was the lack of drinking water, no fountains, containers, nothing. The play was slow and I saw groups of 6 to 7 players and singles and twosomes. Poorly managed.
5.75 Hour Round
Decent course, but the front nine is much better maintained and more interesting than the back nine. It plays much like a municipal course with relatively straight, tree-lined fairways, and a bunker set near the green. A slice or hook on most drives doesn't put you in serious trouble.
It is difficult to differentiate between the fairways and rough on many holes. This might be due to the dry conditions (not allowing for thick rough), but is more likely because the fairways were not cut very short and the rough was cut very short. Some of the greens were aerated and subsequently not watered - there were pockmarks everywhere.
The views of the mountains (in every directions) are gorgeous.
The driving range is nice, if a bit small. The driving range balls, on the other hand, were very trashy. There is only one practice green that would not serve well as a putting green.
The most lasting impression was the pace of play: it was atrocious, and I did not see a marshal once during the round.
Overall, this course is a good value (I payed just $12.49 for 18 holes on a weekend using GolfNow). But due to the pace of play and mediocre course conditions, I likely won't be returning anytime soon.
A Real Gem
This Course is easily overlooked but a real Gem. There are cows grazing, beautiful rock formations and relaxing water. A nice walking course with a fun layout. Probably the best golf value I have had in a long time.
Great golf day!
The course is a small town course that has few staff members. So it has some issues. But it has great character. The par 5's are long, there are rivers and ponds in play on many of the holes, and the mature trees make it interesting. I love this course.
this course is a great bargin and is in real great shape this early in the year
WE have played this course for, years and,it is in better condition now than it has ever been, especially for this early in the season.
