Oakhurst Country Club was designed by Ohio native Jack Kidwell, who took great care to preserve the beautiful natural terrain while still providing a premier championship course. Kidwell deftly utilized the rolling landscape covered with mature trees to create one of central Ohio's most challenging private golf courses. The layout features narrow fairways and small, sloped greens that demand both accuracy and careful strategy. There is also an abundance of water throughout the course that adds to both its challenging nature and scenic quality. The design has an interesting variety of holes with several holes that long hitters will enjoy and others that will test your short game skills. Although it offers a formidable test, Oakhurst Country Club is still approachable to all skill levels thanks to four sets of tees.

Fun Course
This is a fun course. The conditions are not what you would expect for a country club but still decent. The staff is accommodating with free range balls before the round, tee's at every hole, cooler attached to the cart. and good food and drinks at the turn. Overall a great value with golf now prices.
Nice greens
The course was nice. Short but tough. The members were not welcoming and the pro was very rude. Pace of play was slow and members would not let you play through. Fun track but terrible experience. Will never go back.
Old School
The course was in excellent condition. Oakhurst is an older mature course with smaller greens and tree lined fairways. It's short in length although it demands accuracy in your shot making. The only downside was they had a members couple event going on at the time of our tee time, however the pro shop had us start on the 7th hole.
Private conditions public rate
Great course. Diverse holes. Beautiful tree lined fairways, almost no houses. Fair challenge. Best greens I played so far in Columbus. Free range balls. Really can't beat it
Will play again and again.
One of the best courses in central Ohio. Played it on a Sunday so the rough was deep and the fairways were a bit fuzzy, but it didn't matter because I couldn't find them anyway. Greens were in great shape and fast. Bunkers were playable unlike most courses around.
Great Greens
I love playing Oakhurst! This is a great Kidwell design. Tiny greens make this a true" shot makers" course. I would definitely take a look at a possible membership. Staff and members were all great host to make this a great golfing experience.
Thanks
Great course, unfriendly members
Oakhurst is still a "private" club, but they must be hurting for business so they occasionally open up tee times to the public. I got a great price, $24 for my foursome. The course is outstanding, some of the best greens around, but make sure you stay below the hole or a 3-putt is almost a certainty. The only problem with playing Oakhurst is that you never truly feel welcome, either by the staff and definitely by the members. We had one member be extremely rude to us. The rest were just able to tolerate us. We are all older, experience, well dressed golfers who understand and follow course rules and etiquette. There was no reason to be rude to us.
golfnow Oakhurst
great course in superb condition............best greens I've played on this year, fast and rollin' true..........another Jack Kidwell gem!!!
Great Course
Great course, pace of play would have been faster but there was a foursome in front of us (twosome). We played faster and they were constantly in the woods looking for balls. Courtesy golf would have been nice to let us play through. Good Food, nice staff, for the fairways and some greens just being aerated it was still in great shape.
Oakhurst
The fairways were just aerated and the greens were just recently done. Great weather to play but the mud and plugs made the course difficult. I know this is necessary to maintain conditions. The sand traps were wet and hard with little sand!
Tough but fair
First time playing this course. I really enjoyed it. If you have difficulty finding the fairway off the tee, it will be a long day for you. My only complaint was that the greens had been aerated recently, which made for poor putting. My advice to this course (and all others) is to aerate half of the green one week, leaving the other side puttable. Put the pin on the smooth side so golfers can have a good putting experience. After the holes heal, aerate the other side, and switch the pin placement. Cog Hill in Chicago does this and it works out great. All in all, I really enjoyed the course and plan to return.
Solid Layout Good Condition
The course is a solid Jack Kidwell design. Would not challenge a big hitter as the tips are less than 6500 yards. Good mixture of holes, with elevated greens. Course was in very good condition with greens that were a little slow but rolled true. The bunkers needed more sand but overall a fun test.
What central ohio golf is supposed to be!
Great course, which from my round and with reputation is well irrigated and well maintained! Challenging greens and no let up is what I got from this gem just outside the outer belt. Would recommend to the members friend and lucky weekend foe alike
Nice value
Nice value:
A couple of the tee boxes were a little scuffed up. Overall.. a nice play.
tough little greens
Oakhurst is in excellent condition all around. The greens rolled smoothly and quick.
Excelllent day
For a country club course was so so , but played at a great pace!
Great condition, a hidden gem
Columbus has a lot of good golf courses and I have played a lot of them. I have never paid any attention to oakhurst before, but it is now on my permanent radar. Great condition and a fun layout makes this course a must play.
Kidwell's Toughest Test
Jack Kidwell built courses all over central Ohio with the guiding idea of making them accessible challenging and fun for the average golfer.
Oakhurst exceeds those specs and is a difficult but fair test for amateurs. Unless you hit shots a lot straighter than I do, you will hear a constant tattoo of balls hitting oak. The greens are well manicured and most of them include a disguised slope to deflect the unwary approach.
I like a challenge and I like Oakhurst.
