Andy's review of Sunrook Woodbridge/Blackrock 7-21-14
very nice with blackrock being much different than woodbridge which made the 18 holes enjoyable.
Sunday is the best day to play
Course was in excellent shape and the uphill par 5's were interesting.
Beginner
First time on this course with my dad. It was gorgeous and quite challenging. Woodbridge 9 was my favorite especially the fourth hole par 3 island green.
Golf trip
Play sunbrook pointe and enjoyed it... The back nine Woodbridge was not in great shape and a little disappointing .
Overall had a good time.
The pro shop clerk could use a lesson in how to greet the public.
Greens were in great shape.
Greens were in great shape. The fairways still improving.
A fun round of golf
Staff is really friendly, pace of play was great -- a tad under 4 hours. Course was in good shape and greens were firm and fast. We've played this course a few times and its one of our favorites in St George.
3 Great Nines
For my first time at Sunbrook I played 36. I played The Point, Woodbridge, Black Rock, and The Point. I was a little torn on which 9 to play again, mainly between The Point and Woodbridge. The construction going on near holes 1 and 4 on Woodbridge nudged me back to The Point, but that's probably the 9 I enjoyed the most anyway.
The most outstanding feature of Sunbrook to me was the greens. Fast, soft, and in great shape. The fairways were in great shape also. The sand is crushed lava rock. It had rained the evening before I played, and for greenside sand play I found my 60 wedge to be a better choice than my sand wedge.
Highly recommended!
laid out with thought
Nice course, some great challenging sections, overall I loved it.
One of the best courses in St. George
They recently completed overseeding. The Pointe was a soggy mess, except for the greens. Should have been closed, as the course has 2 other 9 hole tracks (Black Rock and Woodbridge). Black Rock was in excellent condition, with only a few "mudballs" thru 9 holes. Wait a couple of weeks to play the Pointe, and it'll be back to pristine conditions. Always one of my favorites in the area
course wet and muddy
Course was in the middle of overseeding and it shouldn't have booked golfers because it was soggy and muddy and cart path only. I certainly wouldn't have booked a tee time if they would have informed ahead of time. One of my worst golf experiences. I don't recommend Sunbrook as there are far better courses in the area.
Interesting Golf Course
Interesting course with many elevation changed. Course was in good condition, but not great. They were getting ready to mantain the greens the next day and preparing for over seed next week. Pace of play very good for a Labor Day afternoon.
Course has 3 nines to pick from
Played Black rock/Pointe. Was immediately welcomed and set up with a cart. Was offered other course combination if I prefered. Course was in great condition with nice fairways and greens that were very accepting. Will go back to this course everytime I am in St. George.
the course was fun but yet trying at times
Golf Now didn't offer any price cut, so if you just walk on you would pay the same. I loved the two different 9's we played and want to go back and play the other 9. Go try it out and enjoy.6
