Ridge Golf Club
About
West Ridge is a fun and challenging layout with a wide variety of holes. There is a fair balance of holes that favor the big hitter and the straight shooter. Course knowledge is an advantage as there are many blind shots. Number 9 is the signature hole an is one of the best short par 4s anywhere. Once you play it you'll have to come back just to figure it out.
The course is built on rolling hills so there are not many level lies. Trees are sparse and the course has a links feel. Wind is a common element to face at West Ridge and its local nickname is "Wind Ridge".
Water comes into play on several holes but the grass and natural rough is not too thick. Several hazards are hidden in pot depressions and behind slopes. Overall the course is fairly forgiving so don't let anything less than a VERY strong wind dissuade you from playing.
The Pro Shop staff and the people in the snack bar are very nice and friendly. There is a driving range and the area's most sloped putting green -- although there's one that's close at Mountain Dell.

Great course!!
I really love this course. It has some challenging holes and especially with the hills. The greens are pretty challenging here because they have lots of hills. Overall I love this place and the staff is really friendly.
Great COVID-19, socially distancing round
This round was quite good despite the greens still recovering from being aerated about a week previous; i was grateful for the opportunity to play during the Coronavirus pandemic, but I would not generally walk this course; the staff was very friendly and accommodating as they always are; great experience that will keep me coming back.
End of season, good round
The greens had been rolled which made them extremely fast, hard to read, and no bite; the course was in great shape otherwise although they had plugged a few of the fairways which altered drives, but it was extremely slow due to two slooooow groups in front of us that would not let us through and did not have any type of concern for those behind them; very frustrating considering it was wide open in front of them; overall the round was good; great, friendly staff
Great course, slow round
The Ridge is my home course and quite popular with all levels of golfers which directly affects the pace of play; however, the course is in great shape and well worth the green fee
Busy course, slow round
The Ridge GC is a fun course to play with the wind adding complexity on an unique layout that can be difficult; many holes are short which makes it a very popular venue for all golfers which has caused a general slower pace of play; this makes it even more difficult to get a good rhythm; I used to play The Ridge quite often, but the popularity and slower pace have made me elect to play other courses; it is a fun course that all levels of golfers will enjoy, and I would recommend it if you like a slow pace.
Fun, busy course
The clubhouse staff at the course is extremely friendly and accommodating; this course is very popular which means the pace of play can be slow; the skill level of the players at this course varies greatly which also affects the pace of play; the course layout is challenging and fun, and the wind affects every shot.
Top notch
I play here frequently, I have recently organized a fundraiser 4 man scramble tournament for my sons baseball team. The service was top notch, the food was great, and the golf course was in excellent shape. Super friendly staff and very helpful throughout the process of putting this event together. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to put an event together. Both Bryant Boshard, and Bryan Abney will help you every step of the way.Well done guys!!!
very popular course
The Ridge GC is a fun course which draws many beginner and high handicap players; this causes the pace of play to slow down because of the level of play and because many of these players do not understand allowing faster groups to play through; as we rounded to start our back nine, a group of three players of this level were sent out in front of us and played in with a single who had rounded in front of us; our twosome waited on this group on every hole starting at the tee box from hole #10; I really enjoy this course, but the pace of play is one area that needs to be addressed with these slower players.
Great experience
The Pro Shop staff is quite friendly and accommodating, willing to make our visit pleasant; the course was in good shape despite the heavy rain and moisture that had recently fallen; the course offers challenges for all player levels; this is my home course that I play regularly in the summer.
Staff
The course was opened for players in the afternoon and it seems we can play without any problem. However, we were taken back when we were about to tee off on the first tee ground, a staff member approach us. With a stern tone said that one of us didn't pay for the round. We showed him our receipts and we continue with the round. Later, within the 8th hole, we were approach again by the Marshall that they heard we were driving on the putting greens. This was absurd and mentioned that we are been picked on for no reason and being a regular customers for several years,we decided to never go back. The staff need to be retrain on customer courtesy and treatment. They need to hire a staff that understand how to resolve customers problems without hostility.
Great play for the value
I had no issues getting in to play this course. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The course has some really fun elevated holes to play. The greens were great! The next time I'm in Salt Lake I'll play here again.
Excellent!!! Will go another round!
Everything was excellent! Next time will go another round with friends!
Very enjoyable links style golf course
Excellent value on GolfNow.com. Very friendly clubhouse staff. Course is new, but growing in nicely. Nice variety of holes so you don't get the feeling your playing the some hole over and over like on so courses. Give the course a try.
Well remodeled
Your title calls this West Ridge. It is no longer but is now The Ridge. We used to call it Windy Ridge, a nomenclature that still fit but only for a couple of holes. The rebuilt course is so, so much better than the old. The course is "fresh" and well kept. Clearly, those who planned the work and carried it out knew what they were doing.
Nice Course with Options
Tends to play short which makes it fun. Allows you to focus on different parts of your game / shots you would not normally hit. Good times.
Very nice
I really liked this course. The links style areas were just awesome. Not like Micjigan.
Golf
Front 9 played slow, the course map is poor for judging distances and hazards, take your own gps and figure the shots out that way. Besides that it was nice for the price and I'll probably play it again
great time, great weather,fun course.
was treated great. perfect day weather wise. this is a fun course with a good variety of different holes and is challenging but fair. had a great time and will go back.
Good Confidence Boost
Have played this course a couple of times since the re-design. The re-design made this course a little too vanilla. I realize the course is new, and that it takes awhile to fill in, but the entire course is hardpan. Carts are being driven too close to the greens (because the cart paths are too far away from the greens) and it is not allowing the grass to fill in. Also, there really is not a whole lot of trouble that comes into play, and they didn't make great use of the space. The course is too short and kind of seems crammed in. Will give it a few years to fill in and then maybe give it another shot. Staff is friendly.
