Type Public
Since its opening in 1973, Glendale Golf Course has been regarded as one of the finest 18-hole public courses in the state. Glendale offers well-maintained large greens with lake and wetland lined fairways that attract an abundance of waterfowl. Glendale Golf Course, designed by William Bell Jr., features one of the best finishing holes in the state - a par-4 that measures 459 yards from the blue tees. Total yardage from the back tees is 6,939, with a par of 72 for men and 73 for women. Three lakes and the Jordan River add intrigue to several holes. Glendale Golf Course's ninth green offers panoramic views of the state capitol building and the downtown Salt Lake City skyline. Other scenery includes the Wastach and Oquirrh Mountains.

A Great Local Course

I played Glendale this past weekend and had a great time -- we were paired up with a nice couple for a wonderful game of golf. It was the first golf of the season (we were so happy Glendale opened up!) and while it was a little cold, we had a great time. Respectful people and large practice green. I'd recommend Glendale for a round of local golf. Not my favorite course but it's still a good time.

Great golf

This municipal course was a real treat. There are not many cart paths so be careful where you ride. The course was in very excellent shape in terms of greens and fairways. Some water hazards and sufficient sand traps to catch the unwary golfer. I was able to enjoy this course twice during my visit to Salt Lake City and would re-visit it again when I am in the area.

Able to get 18 holes in walking on nice sunny day. The wind can be hard to adjust to as is the strategically located sand traps that I found made me focus well. Played better in back nine(learned to adjust). Not a lot iof shade may suggest cart , pack water, and have a blast-great value!
