Great conditions, great value and terrific staff
I was impressed with the quality and conditions of this course at the price point on Golf Now. Upon entering the parking lot a staff member brought a cart directly to my car and welcome me to the Course. Good first impression.
The clubhouse is small, but friendly staff, and got me onto the first T within a few minutes of my arrival. That’s where the fun began. This course is flat, but each hole seems separate from the other. You don’t often see the other holes as you’re playing.
A couple of holes have water and rare elevation changes, but the conditions are so immaculate and perfect that you think you’re playing on a course that should cost two or three times as much.
Would highly recommend this course, and in fact, I’m playing it again today
Alright
The course is under new ownership (Cedar Fair) so I am hopeful for the future. I was rushing to the there from church on Father's Day. I called to advise I would be there right before tee time. I spoke with Barb and she was very pleasant and reassuring. When I arrived, in a rush she helped me buy just two sleeves of golf balls instead of whole box, knowing it was cost prohibitive.
The front 9 went over pretty well. The course is pretty "what you see is what you get" The greens could be fun if they get up to speed, but they seemed kinda sticky and overwatered to me given that we have been in a bit of a drought stretch.
We played as a two-some with a few two-somes in front of us. We played the front in in under two hours. Good pace. Good rhythm. Allowed us to stay get a feel for the round. That all changed on hole 10.
We proceed to play the next 8 holes in about 3 hours and drove off after tapping in on hole #17 because we had another engagement to attend.
According to the two-somes ahead of us there was a foursome about 3 or 4 groups ahead of us that refused to let anyone play through.
While there was a starter and ranger (I saw him on hole 7 checking in on pace), apparently NO ONE said anything to this group.
Entire round ruined.
Conditioning and layout was very average for a course to be charging $60+ a round.
I am hopeful that Cedar Point (Fair) will pile some money into this resort because a world class park like Cedar Point deserves to have a world class golf resort and lodging experience in addition to Hotel Breakers (in the park).
I probably won't be playing again for a few years. As I said, I remain hopeful, but very average.
Working on It
It’s good to see the work that Cedar Point/Fair has put into the course. Obviously, there is lots of work going on now and planned that is appreciated.

I played this course as part of a golf trip to/around the Cleveland area in late May 2023. This course was included on our itinerary based on its listing as a Top Course by Golf Advisor.
PACE: Was told by the pro shop and starter the course was going to be slow. Upon getting out there, it just appeared to be 1 group slowing things up. No ranger to notice/manage this group.
CONDITIONS: The course was in great condition. The greens run fast and are quite undulating. The tees were tore up a bit with divots. The fairways and bunkers were in good shape.
One awful condition out on the course were the mosquitos. They were some of the largest mosquitos I ever saw, and there were a lot of them. At times I would swipe 20+ off the cart or my golf bag. They seemed to get really bad on the holes closer to the lake. Beware.
STAFF: I think something could have been said/done to help with pace, but overall the staff helpful and friendly.
VALUE: Seemed a bit high, but I'm not too familiar with the area. There's an argument that the conditions warrant the price.
LAYOUT: Played the White tees (6,400). The course is a traditional-style layout with large trees lining the fairways and pushed up greens surrounded by large bunkers. The wind off the lake was a factor. All of the par 3 are visually appealing and a fun challenge. There is a good variety of part 4s. Hole #12 is a par 5 well deserving of the 1 handicap. I took a cart for this round, but would walk this course if it's an option.

Love this place!
Course was in fantastic condition. Greens were smooth and quick. Every time playing here the course has been fantastic. Back nine more of a challenge. Highly recommend!
Nice Course!
Hospitality was great. Course I always a pleasure to play. True rolling greens.
Very windy but beautiful day. Course was in excellent condition. Greens, Fairways, Rough were all manicured nicely. Bunkers need some work. Found a lot of stones in them. Personal were very friendly and accommodating. I am looking forward to playing again.
Good conditions, really fast greens
Pros: extremely fast/true greens, friendly, staff, and decent practice area
Cons: no driving range
Overall, the course was good. We did encounter slow play by the third hole, but the ranger let us jump ahead 2 holes and come back and play those holes we missed. The bunkers were average, and the rough was penalizing. I would definitely recommend this course, especially if they have hot deals
Great course
Great layout with everything you're looking for in a course. Greens were extremely fast, definitely stay below the hole whenever possible. Must take advantage of the birdie holes, mainly a couple of the par 5s. Keeping your drive in the fairway a premium if you want to get close to the pin. Overall a great place to play.
Great Course
Loved it! A true test with pretty narrow fairways, sand traps, streams, par 3's over water, and more...
Good value, Better course
It is early so the course is not prime yet, but pretty darn good.

Best year yet
The previous review about the back 9 is insane. This was the best I've seen both nines in a decade and it's April. They are putting money into this course and I couldn't be happier. Friendly employees, nice carts, great greens.

Front 9 was much better than the back 9!
The pro shop was so friendly, we got out in the morning on an unseasonably warm day before the crowd. The course was great in the front, the greens were fast and rolled good. Everything was in great shape and the bunkers were perfect! We were driving down 1 fairway talking about how this was a heck of a deal for the price we paid. The back 9 felt like an entirely different course honestly, and we were definitely disappointed. I would play the front 9 again for sure, and maybe they’re just redoing the back 9 or something, but it wasn’t that good.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback about our golf course under new ownership. We are glad to hear that Barb was able to assist in a time of need and that the front 9 played well. We apologize for the pace of play being affected by a slow foursome on the back 9, and we hope to improve the course's conditions with future investments to provide a better experience for our guests.
