Great course, wonderful setting

Fair, but challenging layout. Would be 5 stars except I would like to seen a deeper discount with freshly punched greens.

Another great round

Oquirrh Hills GC is a regular course I enjoy playing; it is always a fun pleasurable experience with one caveat, occasional slow play because it is very popular with the locals which is a positive aspect of the course; the staff is friendly, and the course was in very good condition with a late spring start.

Great spring round

Oquirrh Hills GC is always a great play which is a very busy community course which slows play, but it was a great round with hesitant players but not too bad. The course was in great shape after the recent snowstorms, and we were pleased with the round. Definitely worth the drive from Salt Lake.

Slow pace but great course conditions

Oquirrh Hills GC is a favorite course of our group that we play several times each year; we are always welcomed and efficiently managed through check in; the course was in very good condition for a winter round, and the only issue that we encountered was in the back nine when we caught up to three groups that were being held up by a twosome in which it appeared the gentleman was trying to teach the lady how to golf, but they obviously didn’t understand golf etiquette and let faster groups play through; we still enjoyed our round despite the very slow pace on the back nine.

Aeration only front 9, slow round

Oquirrh Hills GC is a fun, challenging course that we enjoy playing several times each year; this round caught us off guard because the front 9 greens had been aerated and needed more time to heal; another issue for this round was extremely slow play by a 4-some which consisted of two older couples, and numerous groups between them and us that did not play through; otherwise, the round was a typically fun round.

Always a great experience and fun round

Oquirrh Hills GC is a favorite of our golf group that we play several times a year; the front nine challenges with tree-lined fairways that require strategic play while the back nine is a bit more open with smaller, younger trees that will provide challenges as time progresses; however, the back nine does provide its own challenges with several elevated greens that mimic the front nine smaller sized greens; I would recommend this course to all levels of players as there are tee boxes for all levels; the staff is friendly, accommodating, and welcoming; it is definitely worth the drive from SLC and will not disappoint.

Great release during COVID-19

It was great that Oquirrh Hills GC was open during this COVID-19 situation as it allowed my golf buddy and I a chance to get outside; staff was very friendly, and the course was in very good shape; hope we can play again soon.

Weather kept the crowds away for an awesome round

Every time I play Oquirrh Hills GC I leave wondering why I don’t drive out there more often to play because it is a fun, challenging course; every club will be pulled out as you try to dissect each hole; I play this course several times each year for this reason.

Good, challenging small town course

I play Oquirrh Hills GC a few times a summer because it provides challenges for my game; the layout and challenges vary on the front nine with tight, tree lined fairways; the back nine challenges are based in tight fairways on hillside terrain with unforgiving rough; it is a very fun course, but it is quite busy with a slow pace of play, especially as a twosome; I recommend this course to all.

Tooele's Muni Course provides old and new

We played from the Black tees measuring 6,581 yards; slope is 70.3/124.

The front nine of the course is the old muni in this town. Lots of trees, small overgrown greens, wide fairways. Greens were hard the day we played, tough to hold an approach shot. Typical city muni course.

The back nine is newer and is built immediately east of the front nine through a gully that originates in what is called Middle Canyon in the Oquirrh Mountains. It is wide open with few mature trees and it surprisingly plays shorter than the front nine. There are two signature holes on this nine. #13 is played over water to a green that is backed by a rock wall/dam feature. #14 tee box is on top of the rock wall/dam (see pictures) and provides a stunning view of the Tooele Valley looking north to the Great Salt Lake.

Pace of play was great through 12 holes. Then we ran into a local foursome of "members" with both personal and course golf carts. Speed of play was not a question for them. They took their time, gave dirty looks, and caused the last six holes to be played over two hours. Frustrating but expected in a rural town muni.

This course is popular with locals as it is a relatively easy course compared to others in the vicinity. Course is maintained decently. A renovation is needed on the front nine greens.
