Lakeside Golf Course
About
Originally a nine-hole course when opening in 1966, Lakeside Golf Course expanded to 18 holes in 1993. The course, located close to downtown Salt Lake City, boasts views of the Wasatch Mountains. It is suitable for players of all abilities. The course was built on relatively flat terrain that features plenty of water. Half of the holes have water hazards coming into play. Lakeside Golf Course makes accuracy a priority rather than distance with several out of bounds areas and holes that are short and tight. The facility also has a practice range as well as putting and chipping areas for golfers to use.

Stacked like sheep
I used to really enjoy playing here. It’s close to home so it has always been my go too. The staff is friendly, the course isn’t bad either. Other than it’s usually always wet, but that’s not the issue.
I don’t know who does their scheduling but the last few times I have played there they stack you in like sheep. Unless you’re the first tee time on the front or back 9, plan on being 4 carts deep waiting to tee off.
You are waiting 5 to 10 min between each stroke and I don’t know about anyone else, but that takes the fun out of it. I understand if you play fast and catch people, but that’s not the issue. I seen on the front 9 the first hole there were 5 carts in line, one group in middle of the course and 1 group on the green. You have 3 groups on 1 hole ALL waiting for the person ahead of them to hit.
I will not be returning and would NOT recommend this place to anyone again.
Tees
Course is to short for 3 sets of men’s tees, makes player’s of lesser ability play wrong box
Another great round at Lakeside GC
I have played at Lakeside GC numerous rounds NDA each year for several years, and today’s round was no different; it is a popular course with a great variety of of hole layouts and technicality needed; the front nine did have some slow play, and after we started the back nine and encountered their youth golf program but only for one hole which was pleasant; it was a fine round and will encourage us to return again.
The clubhouse is clueless!!
When they have no idea what’s going on on the course don’t say you do!!! The people who run the clubhouse are clueless!!
Good public track
This is a true public course that has golfers of all ages and all skill levels. The biggest positive is the staff friendliness, from the pro shop to the snack bar. The greens are true and pretty fast,. Tee boxes were pretty beat up for this early in the season and the fairways were hard and dried out. Be prepared for a long round on weekends as there are no marshals and we waited on just about every shot. There were 3 groups on the 8th tee and there were still at least 3 holes open between us and the group that teed off behind us when we finally teed off on the 8th hole.
Awesome Day
Staff and course was exceptional! Loved all of it. Will be playing again soon.
Love this course!
It's a great course with great challenges, lots of fun water features and traps.
TOP priority destination
TOP notch target layout and is a must for serious golfer
Another good round
Lakeside GC always provides a friendly, fun, enjoyable round of golf because the course is always in very good shape and the staff is always friendly; the only part of playing Lakeside is it is a very popular course which has a tendency to have a slower pace of play; we were playing behind a high school tournament which had numerous parents following their players but didn’t affect our round; I look forward to future rounds at Lakeside.
Fun round
Lakeside GC is a favorite of mine because every visit is pleasurable; check-in was quite smooth and uneventful which makes the Roy d seem so much better; the course was in good shape despite the drought conditions; the front 9 was a bit slow, but the back 9 was much quicker play; it is never a disappointment playing at Lakeside which I look forward to my next round; this course provides adequate challenge for all skill levels.
A new favorite?
Didn't even know this course existed until a few weeks ago. Pleasant surprise. I'm a sucker for tree-lined fairways. Good layout, good greens, good value. Pretty level course, so it's walkable.
Very pleasant and interesting course
This is a very pleasant course that's fairly short and not especially difficult, but it has a couple interesting holes that require some strategy and shotmaking. Unlike most Utah courses, this is mostly flat, and it would easy to walk. The course was in good shape, but I particularly enjoyed the soft but fairly quick greens that create some challenging putts..
