About
Located north of San Diego in Carlsbad, Omni La Costa Resort & Spa is a legendary golf and wellness getaway in southern California. The resort, which opened in the 1950s, has hosted 37 elite PGA Tour events. The Champions Course features a serene setting that meanders through peaceful wetlands over landscaped bridges and rolling hills. The course underwent a significant renovation in 2011 by Steve Pate, Damian Pascuzzo and Jeff Brauer, which included four brand new holes and improved irrigation and soil for improved course conditions year-round.

Not worth it
I saw the price and assumed what I was getting was a 5 star top of the line course. What I got was anything but. Only thing nice was the staff and golf Cary which had super plush seats. The range was in bad shape. Heading over to the first tee you have to watch out for balls coming from the range because rhe netting is completely torn. The greens were absolutely disgusting!!! Some of the worst I have played for any amount of money. I assume they charge this much because they know your staying at the resort and got you handcuffed but please avoid this course at all costs. You will be happy you went somewhere else.

Terrible
If you are thinking about playing this course, don’t. Save your money this course is in laughable condition. For $145 dollars it’s almost theft. The tee boxes are abysmal and the greens are even worse.

This should be a $50 Muni course
Why on earth this is a $200 round is beyond me. It is in TERRIBLE shape. They need to put in about 3-5 million dollars into the course, if they want to charge anything more then muni rates. It was BAD

Rough shape
Certainly can’t go by the pictures of the place. No sand in the traps, greens are in terrible condition. Needs some work.

Not worth the money
Course is in terrible shape. Municipal courses are in way better shape than La Costa. The fairways and greens were patchy. Greens are not n terrible shape. They need a lot of work done on the course to get it where it was several years ago. Definitely not worth the money. The staff are very courteous though.

Needs to be redone entirely
It is a shame that these courses have not been maintained properly. They are burnt out. The greens need to be redone also. Entrance to the complex needs signs as the courses are part of the LaCosta property. Very easy to get lost. The staff was very nice and tried to assist, when you happened to see somebody.

Buyer Beware
Received refund from this course. However, please know that this course is under major repair. We had two dozen tractors pass us on the course and on the cart paths trying to get their work done. This is not worth the exorbitant fee that you were being charged on GN. Be sure to ask about the maintenance schedule that day.

Punched greens macro
Paid over 100.00 ea 2:40 tee time and no mention of greens being punched. Not very happy :(
Could be a lot better
Played same course back in September and was much greener and the greens were in much better shape. A once world class golf course could get back to that level again someday.

This golf course has seen better days
The conditions were pretty bad for what they are charging. The greens were brown and bumpy. A few of the fairways were patchy. This is definitely not the same course that hosted tour events. I've heard from other players they are about to renovate the course due to an upcoming contract to host NCAA championships. Will prob be better then.
