Pleasant Valley Golf Club
About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Didn't let us know they were aerating the green, charged full price.
The course was fine, the price would have been fine if the greens weren't in the middle of being aerated. It's pretty dishonest that the course didn't let us know while booking that aeration was happening, because I definitely would not have paid $95 for that.
Rude
I booked online 9 holes. Played 9 holes too and pay for 18 holes. Don’t make any sense. They said online is crazy. We won’t allow people who want to play only 9 holes. It’s so rude the way they talk. Golf is a very professional game. The staff should be professional. You can’t make your own rules for everything. I don’t know if you guys read this reviews and take necessary steps. But I was very disappointed and I will tell my friends as well.
It’s a whole new PVGC!
I joined this club three months before they opened in 1998 and the new superintendent has done an absolutely phenomenal job with turning the course around.
The layout has always been great because they lease the land from Fairfax County Park Authority so there are no houses and it is not too healthy or too flat. It is the easiest course to walk in the area.
It really went downhill about three years ago, but as I mentioned with the new superintendent, I would argue their greens are the best in the entire area!
Great Conditions
Course was in great shape for early March. Greens were fast but fair.
The fairways and greens are in beautiful shape.
I was impressed with the overall condition of the course. Tee boxes to greens were very nice.
Course was in good condition except for a few files where “red” the box for my daughter was missing the markers. Like the course as usual, but seemed like the group behind were playing in a hurry pace.
A rare find
For a public course. It is in great shape with a few challenges! The best part nicely laid out and no houses to hit!!!!
Beautiful layout! No houses to be seen
Course was in excellent shape and you can see they’ve put in the work.
