Best place to work on your game!
If you are interested in working on your game there is no place better. The driving range is better than most (mats only) in that a significant portion is covered and there are heaters for when it is cold. The short game area is excellent, the best in the area with plenty of space. There is a huge practice putting green and a separate chipping green with bunkers arranged around it and other mounds with different length grass so that you can work on side hill or other lies. So you can get a bucket of balls and a round on the 9-hole course. You can warm up with some of the balls, then chip 100 times, putt 100 times, full swing with the rest of the balls, then head out for 9 challenging, picturesque par-3 holes between 84 and 205 yards that you have to think about.
Nice 9 holes
Although 3 days after the rain VGC is still extremely muddy it was a good play! Every single hole was muddy and wet , grateful for a sunny day to be outside!
VGC is always the only course in the area that stays muddy and wet for weeks! Ughhhh snd the parking lot hole that has been there for 3 years is unacceptable! Patchwork needed! Too bad this is a great course otherwise and the staff is excellent!
First timer
It is my first time at VGC. A real good course for beginners to hone their short game at affordable prices. Ample lanes for range practise and a big space for putting at different level of difficulty. Tee box can better maintained though. Overall, a great place for golf. I will definitely come again..
Don't worry about tee times
Golf now has the 9/11am start times when in reality, just show up check in and walk up to hole 1 when ready. So don't rush, hit before and enjoy the course. Awesome lay out, tee boxes could use some work but overall a great 9hole for beginners and kids.
Great course for a beginner
I just started getting into golf and loved this course as a great place to practice my short game. I also liked that they had no problem with me playing by myself. I definitely will be back.
good place to exercise
overall conditions are good and also good price as well
It's a nice cozy place to hang out
The course is too small. Don't expect too much. The course is nearby and it was a good place to get out and enjoy the weather. I had a great time with my wife who recently started to play. As far as golf goes, I used PW or less for 4 out of 9 holes from the back tee.
Good for the Value
This course is a nice par 3. It helps your short game. It is a pretty course. The pace of play is very good. Even when it is busy, it moves along.
