The Gauntlet is situated along the banks of the lake that is the centerpiece of Curtis Memorial Park. When it first opened in 1995, Golf Digest recognized it as one of the "top ten new courses to play in the U.S." This challenging layout will definitely test your shot making abilities. The golf course begins with a tough front nine that has several sharp doglegs over water and tall grasses. There are also a slew of blind shots. The back nine is a bit gentler since there's less water and it is more open and forgiving, but the large, multi-tiered greens can be tricky. The fourth hole is the golf course's signature. Your tee shot will have to carry a marsh to a narrow landing area on this par 5. After that, you'll be faced with a triple-tiered green with the lake to the left and bunkers to the right.

Great place
The staff is the best in the region , course is well kept , challenging , food is good . Well worth the money , I Golg there at least once a week
Outstanding layout
Overall, good shape. Greens very hard to hold your ball, need to be softened up a bit.
Fall golf with views and visitors
Playing the Gauntlet in the fall means terrific views of the changing colors while enjoying a course that can challenge even the most experienced golfer.
Very enjoyable round!
This was our 2nd time playing here. Course was in very good shape. Some of the greens had some rough places but that really didn’t hurt our play. The layout is super with lots of doglegs and obstacles. We will certainly play here again!
Course needs work
The course is in rough shape. Only about three greens were worthy of being called greens. The rest are pretty chewed up. They recently aerated, so at least they're trying, but they have a long ways to go. Besides that, we got stuck behind a group of five, yes five, on a Saturday. Three were walkers, all were hackers. We waited a lot. The staff inside the clubhouse were very kind, but they needed a marshall to push things along....and in no way should they allowed a group of five to go out together.
Nice course
Greens were aerated the week before.
Everything else was great
Just Aerated
Aeration aside a pretty layout around a small lake and through trees on both sides. A lot of blind shots and sharp doglegs required strategy off the tee. Greens in bad shape even without aeration issue. Only got to play the front twice so can’t tell how the back nine was. If I pay 29 every time it would be worth it but got a hot deal rate because of aeration. Won’t ever play again because it was not worth the drive or the value.
Wet but Great Afternoon
Tee boxes, fairways, greens; and especially the staff; we’re all fantastic. Played during rain but drainage was good until rain got so heavy that the greens couldn’t keep up. Was great to see so many youth golfers who use facility for practice. They are getting a great first impression of a well-run golf course. Had dinner at 19th hole afterwards and it was excellent as well!
Played here 2 years ago and what a transformation. Greens, course and bunkers are so much improved. Very impressed

Staff is really accommodating and friendly. Course condition is great just a couple of greens that needs attention….
Great course!
Everything from the check-in (I was a single), to starter, to layout of course was excellent. Some bunkers are under repair but overall a nice and well maintained course. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
