About

Goose Creek Golf Club in Leesburg, Virginia offers a challenging layout that will have you using every club in your bag. The layout has small greens that are difficult to read and narrow, winding fairways lined with thick rough. There are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens. With numerous uphill, downhill, and blind tee shots, accuracy is essential to scoring well on this golf course. Several holes on the back nine run alongside Goose Creek, providing some of the best scenery on the course. The creek and a few ponds provide water hazards on some of the holes. The course is a formidable test but diverse enough to appeal to both low and high handicappers but the affordable rates are what make Goose Creek G.C. especially appealing.

Nice golf course
Very nice golf course with challenging greens. I'm looking forward going back for another round.
This course is agreat value
This was my first time at the course. The staff was friendly. The course was in great shape. It did present some challenges. I enjoyed my outing. My nephew and I played 18 holes. I will play this course again. What a bargain for the money.
Course was in pretty good shape
The pace of play was very slow on the front 9 because it was so busy. It picked up a lot on the back and course was in pretty good condition.
Great conditions
Course in great shape and kudos to all staff. The only thing I would change is having ranger out to control pace of play.
Super day on the links
Wonderful day to play, course is in great shape too!
New Course Player
Challenging course, but not a punishing one. The comments hole by hole on score card were very helpful for a ' new to this course' person. It's a public course that was very well maintained and play was enjoyable! Found course on Golfnow.com and plan to play as often as possible. Great job folks!
The greens need alot of attention
The greens were very poor. Putting was an adventure. Not a very true roll on any of the greens. Twice, I was almost hit with a golf ball. The course is tight between holes and fairways.
No one at Pro shop or first Tee
Upon arriving at the golf course we went to the proshop to "check in." The proshop worker was at the concession stand taking food orders. Finally after waiting for him to take care of at least 3 food orders we got him to the proshop to check in and get instructions on where to proceed next. When we got to the first tee we we introduced ourselves to the 2 some that was there. Finally, a worker came down and asked what tee time we had. When we told him 11:40, he "Said oooo that's a problem...we are on the 11:50 and you missed your tee time" He nastily suggested we "get here at least by 11:30 for an 11:40 tee time". We assured him that we did arrive early and that we had to wait on staff to pull double duty. He continued to make rude remarks and inform us that we may have to wait another 40 minutes to tee off. This guy was a jerk and has no clue how to talk with the public. I suggest he watches how he talks to people and uncrosses his arms after her makes his rude comments.
The normal goose.
Course was in good shape. Greens were rolling true Not bumpy
Great course great price
This was my first time playing this course. Can't really complain since we played the day after a storm. It was an early tee time and it was cart path only because of the course saturation, so naturally the pace was a little slower.
A very linear course but challenging with more blind shots than I was used to. I would definitely recommend this course.
Long Day
Slow play. No ranger. No starter. There really needs to be someone at the first tee to explain to people how to play ready golf. No ranger. Terrible slow day. At least the weather was nice and the group I was with were pleasant.
golfing with my son
previous resident of Chantilly--moved to Richmond 4 years ago--used to play goose creek often, but it's been years ago...some changes to front 9 which I enjoyed, and I thought the course was in great shape...my son and I enjoyed the round tremendously, and I would golf there again anytime...great deal through golfnow
Hard(soil) - no sand - bunkers.
While the course is in excellent shape - both greens and fairways are full (virtually no bare spots) and welll trimed, the "bunkers" (sand traps) are terrible! They do not have real 'sand' in them-they have dirt. While the top level (less than an inch) is raked, the dirt below is compact and hard. It is very difficult to play out of these bunkers in the standard way of moving the "sand" that moves the ball. I feel it is out right dangerous if you try to play it that way you could seriously hurt your wrists.
Tough course
Tight fairways elevated slanted greens no hold on the greens! Course in very good condition. Fun but tough round!
Great value!
Got a Golf Now weekend special ($25). The course was in excellent shape and the staff was friendly. Be careful on holes 14 & 15 ( back to back Par 5's) balls come in at you from several different directions, I call It the "bombing range"!!!
Terrible round
They started three groups at the same time and by the time we made it halfway through the third hole the course Marshall came up to is to complain about our pace which was not slow at all. This is the first and last time I will be playing this awful course.
OK for the price we paid
I guess I shouldn't complain because we caught a 19$ tee time, most were $40 and I would expect a little more for that price especially considering the course history (former private club, PGA tour stop, etc.). The carts were dirty and cart paths were in need of repairs. Fairways were generally very good but greens were slow and bumpy, granted still not healed from aeration. Layout was nice, short but challenging due to good par 3's, good bunkering, doglegs and some blind shots. Recent flooding had caused problems on several holes and bunkers overall were muddy, hard packed and many were small lakes....not much you can do after 4 inches of rain, I guess. I would still recommend, but this course could definitely use a makeover.
This course is great
Very well priced for the dc and va, area, it sounds very easy, dont be fooled.
You will be challenged, mentally, and skill wise.
Good golf course
The golf course is very good and nice for the price ! I'm so happy to play !!!!!! !!!!!! !!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!!! !!!! !!!!!
Not a relaxing course
Goose Creek frequently has some low-priced deals and so many new and less-advanced players choose this course. This itself is not bad (other than the expected pace of play is > 5 hours), but when combined with the fact that the layout of the course is very tight in places, this makes for dangerous situations. I had to duck or move to avoid errant shots on a tee box, a green, and even a fairway. There are multiple locations where one walks or drives toward another tee box with little ability to react quickly. There is even a road where your car is at risk driving into or out of the course. Bottom line- a dangerous place to play.
