About

Goose Creek Golf Club in Leesburg, Virginia offers a challenging layout that will have you using every club in your bag. The layout has small greens that are difficult to read and narrow, winding fairways lined with thick rough. There are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens. With numerous uphill, downhill, and blind tee shots, accuracy is essential to scoring well on this golf course. Several holes on the back nine run alongside Goose Creek, providing some of the best scenery on the course. The creek and a few ponds provide water hazards on some of the holes. The course is a formidable test but diverse enough to appeal to both low and high handicappers but the affordable rates are what make Goose Creek G.C. especially appealing.

Not in bad shape considering amount of play.
Greens were cut a little to low on Memorial Day. Putts ran off green on some holes where pin was up front or in back. May want to send guys up each fairway with fertilizer bottles to fill divots. I was doing my part but others obviously do not.
Tee boxes were OK considering the amount of play over the weekend.
Keep the ranger on the back 9. This is where it seems to slow down.
Overall Good Experience
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Course was in pretty good shape but the bunkers could use a complete overhaul. They were in very poor condition.
Fun course overall and very reasonably priced.
Great Sunday Outing
What a great course for a relaxed Sunday outing! I was able to go out on a Sunday afternoon solo with a cart for under $20 thanks to GolfNow. Due to the anticipated bad weather (which didn't occur) there wasn't another golfer within 3 holes of me the entire time.
Most of the tee boxes were well maintained, as were the fairways and greens. You definitely need to stay out of the rough as it is considerably thicker than anticipated. The back 9 are pretty close together and I can see if it's busy errant shots coming from other holes.
Great course for the price paid!
Good course overall
Very well maintained course, with well manicured greens. Layout was good, with a fair amount of elevation changes. Tough par 3's from the tips. Despite elevation changes, good for walking
One of the better kept muni's you'll find.
As Muni's go, this was extremely well kept! Was very happy with the conditions, even after all the rain they just had. The staff, all around, was great! Only complaint I can muster would be the carts and the lack of a driving range. I think they're pretty tight on space so that may be wishful thinking. In all I was happy with the course and would definitely return.
Course is in excellent condition
amazing course in excellent condition - take a can of Off tho! :)
Great Local spot.
50 bucks for 2 on a wednesday afternoon. Not bad. Course was in good shape and the staff is friendly. Its only a mile or two from my house. I'll definitely be back.
Beautiful Course with Charm and Flavor
Surprisingly beautiful public course with charm in Northern Virginia. The course is old, but is well-maintained. It was indeed one of the best public courses I have ever played. It reminded me a little of Torrey Pines in San Diego. I played on Saturday so it was very crowded and it took more than five hours! I should go there on weekdays. Yet I recommend everyone to play in this old-fashioned legendary course.
Total yardage is too short from the White tee
Since the total yardage is too short such as under 6000 yards, this course si good for the beginner, juniors, women or elderly ones.
Hidden gem
This course was a pleasant surprise. I played at the beginning of May, and the course was in perfect condition. I doubt this will last through the hot summer, but it's fantastic right now.
Not a long course, but with very small greens, your approach shots have to be precise. Greens are also fairly undulating, so it's key to stay below the hole.
Only complaint is the holes are pretty close together and I can imagine errant balls all over the place on weekends. Play it on a weekday when it's not crowded.
accurate shots a must
First time on this course, small greens require accurate approach shots and have some interesting slopes. Not terribly long, but a fun play with a variety of up, down and side hill shots. Conditions good except for the large holes filled with (I don't know what) impersonating bunkers.
Solid course and good value
The course is well maintained and staffed. I appreciated that it was patrolled by marshals monitoring the pace of play.
course in great shape
I did not get to finish my round due to an injury . The staff was very attentive to my injury. I love the course and it's in great condition and very well maintained. just aerated so greens should be top shape within a week.
Great Pace of Play
I started play at 3 p.m. Excellent pace completing in less than 3.5 hours. A number of single golfers on course making it move quickly. Conditions very good for so early in the season. Upkeep is good and very attractive. First time for me at this course so some surprises when the scorecard descriptions were not clear enough for me to anticipate the risks. Eager to go again. GolfNow special rate was outstanding.
Good course
I enjoyed this course. There are some pretty challenging holes with significant elevation changes, and others are short and simple to even things out.
Greens fees are fairly priced making this a great value.
Great course
Great course and great condition for being so early in the spring. The pace of play slowed down in the back 9 but Im guessing it was only because the people in front of us were having a hard time dealing with the high winds. Greens were sandy/aerated but still in good condition. Overall great experience and fun course.
course improved
Goose Creek is the most improved course in the Washington area. I play at almost all public courses around here. In January, the conditioning of the course was like most courses in May.
Tough course!
Always a good value at goose creek! Love to play here staff isthe best. Back nine can back up due to long par threes but other than that always tough to score here. They have some pin positions that would be tough for pros so you better feel ok adding 5 strokes to your score playing here along with the rolling course slopes makes many shots unique. The par threes are as challenging as you can want! More than I like actually and a birdie for most average golfers will not happen. A par is a great score on most and if you miss it your tee shot there goes your score for he day.
The course is in better condition than ever.
Very affordable greens fees. I have played this course for 30 years occasionally, and it is in better condition than ever before. The difficulty level is fair for average golfers and the staff is very friendly. The course drains well even though it is close to Goose Creek and therefore carts are almost always 90 degrees.
Enjoyed playing for the first time
Was super excited to get out for 18 in above 50 degree weather in the midle of January. The pace of play was great, even with a 3 some teeing off right in front of us we finished playing in just a few minutes over 4 hours. Winter tees were all set up but course sill provided a great challenge and was in excellent condition. Many tough blnd shots that I will be better prepared for next time. Also is it just me or are the par 3's here very long and very difficult.?
