Maple Course at Locust Hills Golf Club
About
Locust Hills Golf Club in Springfield offers two championship courses, Locust and Maple. Both courses sprawl across 280 acres of gently rolling hills, offering ample room that keeps in errant shots. At just over 6,750 yards, the Maple Course is the longer of the two by about 200 yards. The golf course is well manicured with rough areas that are kept at a modest height. The greens come in various shapes and sizes, making each hole unique. The occasional water hazard or sand trap also comes into play throughout the course. Both courses offer a mix of challenging holes and player-friendly elements. They are diverse enough to appeal to beginners as well as more advanced players, which is why many local high school golf teams choose Locust Hills as their home golf course.

What an excellent course with a great staff!!
I love this course and the staff at LHGC are top notch. The course is always beautiful and very well maintained and the staff there are more than helpful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Course was great. Staff was ok(to be fair they were quite busy) .
My only complaint was some of the other golfers were not very tolerant of newbies like my son and I. We all have to learn sometime. I will let anyone play through, but hitting balls on top of people is rude.
4 of us had a blast, enjoyed the course & Staff. Thank you!
Great combination of holes, well maintained course with fantastic people working there!!
This is a beautiful place to play always
I play here often and love it! Friendly staff always, beautiful course and they have reasonably priced food. The carts are always clean and well maintained!
nice course, well maintained fairways, greens, and tee boxes
Great course for the price. The course was well maintained and in great shape when we played. Plenty long enough from the blue tees.
Greens in good condition.
Great value for the money. The course was in good condition. My cousin was in town for a visit and wanted to play a round. He said that he didn't really want to play a championship level course and just wanted to "get out". He was shocked at how nice the course was. I hadn't played at Locust Hills in 10 years and I will surely be back soon.
GREEN! Not much trouble but fun!
The course was soooo green with all the rain. It has lots of trees but the rough is mowed to allow you to find your ball almost anywhere and be able to play the ball. It is a fairly easy course, but if you hit it behind the trees you will be pitching sideways or trying to pull off a hero shot. Lots of fun and greens were in great shape.
The course was in great shape!
The only negatives were slow play and people jumping in front of us and other groups at the turn. When the course is as busy as it was that day they need a ranger out on the course to assist in speeding up play.
Great place
This course is great place to play for the money and it is very maintained.
Great Value
I found a deal online for $10. Place is great. Played the Locus course, and the conditions were excellent. Greens were manicured, and holes were moderately challenging. Overall great experience.
Challenging Course
It didnt have a lot of elevation changes but was still very challenging. We would definitely return to play there again. 2 18 hole courses to choose from.
Beautiful course.
Course was in great shape and staff was very friendly!
NICE AND PEACE FULL IN THE COUNTRY
I like the narrow fairways of the Maple course. It could have more hazards. It was my first time playing there and we were a foursome is why it took so long.I look forward to playing the Locust side.
Great value for your money !!!
Locust Hills is a nice course with some challenging holes, but overall moderate playing conditions. The staff is always friendly and the snack bar food is always good, but inexpensive. Course conditions are always maintained well, even when other course are burned out in late summer. Outings here usually end with their signature grilled chicken, thick pork chops or juicy steaks. Great value for your money and always a good time !!!
Nice country setting
This course is located a good distance into the country. I really appreciated the cordial staff. They have 2 courses offering 36 holes to choose from. The Locust course is the original and offers old country beauty while still offering great open playability and sufficient length. The Maple course is the newer course and plays more like a links style layout offering great forgiveness off most tees and high risk with great reward shots available. It is enjoyable to have the peaceful surroundings while playing a very nice course. I actually booked a golf scramble here this summer based upon my experience here.
well maintained, reasonable price
Can be challenging, nice view of holes, nothing gimicky
Although not the best course for conditions, it was a good deal for the price.
Greens were a little rough but not too bad for this time of year.
very nice course
the course was in great shape, not a lot of leaves on the ground yet, tairways were very nice, greens were fast and in good shape. staff was great, polite and helpful..one of my favorite courses for the money..
