The 18-hole Dogwood Trace Golf Course (formerly known as Lee Park Golf Course) in Petersburg, VA is a public golf course. Stretching over 6600 yards from the back tees while playing to a par 72 the course features four different sets of tee boxes and can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels. Players will find extensive bunkering lakes and ponds with bulkheads that come into play on several holes and well-manicured challenging greens.

What a great deal
The course is in pretty great shape right now. Bunkers are good sand, fairways and greens are well maintained, the tee boxes are in good shape too. Two small things that could be improved; the rough is a bit too short and I think letting it grow out just a little would be great. And distance markers in the fairway would be helpful. There are basically none so distance is a guessing game. If you have a distance finder, be sure to bring it with charged batteries. Otherwise, great course.

Always a pleasure
Played the round with a chap visiting from Scotland, and really enjoyed it. Course in good shape, particularly given the time of year. The clubhouse and cafe staff are always great, as is James, the starter. James is exactly the type of upbeat, personable starter a course needs, as he sets the tone for an enjoyable round. Pace of play was great. I’ll definitely be back.
5 some holding upire course
played 4 and a half hours and left still on 15. greens were decent but pace of play from 4th hole on was horrid. called auto system and lady said she would notify staff to get marshall out there but we had little hope of that because only one person was working in entire proshop/dinning area.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Same today as always
Upon walking into the pro shop my score card, cart key and tee time was all layed out for me. This is a very effecient and well oiled operation. The staff is extremely friendly and lets you know that they appreciate you choosing Dogwood to golf. The golf course is always in excellent playing conditions including tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens.

If you want to play golf in blue jeans...
This is the place. Played behind 3 elderly guys, who did not care how long it took to play. Many holes we were waiting for them to tee off, and they did not mind hitting 2-3 balls each until 1 hit a fairway. On several holes the group ahead of them was more than a full hole ahead, yet they never asked us to play thru. Several times they would play their fairway shot, head to the green, then turn around and come back down the fairway to pick up their other balls. Twice we accidentally hit into them due to this. Apparently fixing ball marks on the greens at Dogwood is reserved for those who actually like smooth greens.

Great day of golf
Course was well manicured for time of season. Staff is always friendly attentive and alert to needs and expectations. Pace was good. Though populated, golfers were good at staying with gold etiquette with allowing smaller groups to play through.

Hidden gem
This course has always beein extremely great playing condition and the staff are extremely friendly. It is well worth your time. The greens, fairways and bunkers are very well kept.

Great Public Course
As a high handicapper that hadn’t played in well over a year I think this course was very, very nice. I don’t need very much so to see how hard the staff works - groundskeepers, club house manager, and F & B staff are doing very well. Keep up the good work and I cannot wait to play your course again soon!
