Mark Harmon
Great course, grass still growing - not up to normal conditions- 1st day of spring.
Absolutely loved this course because of its layout and friendly staff. I found a bit challenging for a high handicap golfer, but if you are looking for a good time or to improve your game, I strongly recommend this course.
Unhappy
I would start with the closet and the staff was great the Leo was really good and the greens were terrific.
Have a bad horse needs mowing everywhere several times had orange gloves the grass growing on the collars same gravel bunkers
Just poor
Unhappy
Great course and prices!
Been playing this course my whole life. Staff of friendly and you can’t beat the hot deal prices! Green are in amazing shape; fairways and rough are a little thicker than desired, but still in good shape. Great course!
Bad fairways
This course has good burgers, fair greens, and is a nice layout
The weakness here is the fairways-grass is thin and has too many bare spots
Pace of play is also slow
Very Nice staff though
Beautiful course in the us Ridge Mountains
To be fair, the course just got pelted two days ago but Florence, so it was muddy and soggy everywhere so the play was stuff. That aside, gorgeous golf course, plenty of room for all levels, tips definetly make it a challenge
.great staff, good grill food.
Decent course
First time playing, fairways were in rough condition, greens were really slow and some had some damage to it. A couple of blind shots so make sure you look at your score card to see where you need to place the ball.
Pretty Good
The greens are worth 5 stars ( a little soft but roll great)! The rest of the course is plenty green but the grass is not very full/thick. No bare spots just not dense grass (causing a little more soil contact). Soil is pretty damp due to lots of rain this summer, just hit your shots clean. Overall a great value ($25) and rough is actually hard like it should be.
2 weakspots
Slow play again here
Also thin grass in fairways
Too many bare spots
Good Experience
Hanging Rock is a course I have played many times. The course has a nice layout and is in good condition. Like all courses, there is trouble if you don't hit your target line.
Good course
Good Course a must stop if you're in the Salem Virginia area
Meh, just meh again
I typically play here 3-4 times a year. Right now the greens are rolling pretty good, the fairways were rather shaggy and in need or work in some places. This track is seemingly going down hill over the past 2-3 years compares to what the other courses in the area look like.
Great find!
This course provides a lay out that a novice or experienced player would like. Definitely will be back to play it again next year in our golf vacation.
Good Value
One of the better courses in Roanoke. Fairway grass was a little long for my liking but overall good condition.
Nice design
Nice design , friendly staff...but, in April very pour conditions of tees off and greens..fairways ok
Trouble exist.
Like all golf courses, trouble, or a penalty is there if you don't exacute your shot. The question is...is it fair and reasonable? Hanging Rock is both with shots that can be difficult and deceiving, but fair if you decern your line correctly. However, don't take to much time doing so if you play with people in a big hurry. A challenging and fun course, especially
if you take the time to see the shot.
