Stumpy Lake Golf Course
Stumpy Lake Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones design that provides a unique golfing experience. This scenic layout is routed across a 1,400-acre nature preserve that is absent of any commercial or residential development for miles. The golf course wraps around its namesake lake, which has a canoe and kayak launch as well as a fishing pier. Deer, fox, and eagles are frequently seen on the course and there has even been the occasional bear sighting. Water has a prominent presence throughout and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Stumpy Lake Golf Course is a layout that will force you to be creative with your shot making but it's still approachable enough for high handicappers to tackle with confidence. If you're looking to get in even more golf, sister club Honey Bee is located almost right next door.

If you are planning on playing Stumpy i would wait a week or two. The course is a bit beaten up with alot of dead spots and ground being repaired. Also the greens are horrendous and are like putting on a beach. They are in rough shape as well. Also make sure you bring bug spary as the mosquitos are out of control. I gave up after 9 but best of luck to you.
Very nice course, layout is magnificent Will try to book again.
We had the course to ourselves
It was a beautiful day for golf. The course was in really good shape minus a few wet spots from earlier heavy rain. I felt like we had the course to ourselves which was surprising. Took us 3:10 mins for 18 which was fantastic.
Nice course with some challenges to keep you on your toes. Great day of golf.
Absolutely recommend this course. The only criticism I have is the same for many course: the sand bunkers are practically concrete.
Stupy Lake Review
Course was in horrible shape. I was the only one on the golf course when I teed off. The course should have been closed so I could have played a better day. The golf course was unplayable. Water puddles everywhere and the Greens were being fertilized so they were worse than my backyard. I know the price was only $17.00 but Golfnow tries to provide a lower fee to play golf but the round should be enjoyable. I won't play Stumpy Lake ever again even though its 2.5 miles away from my house.
Course is still recovering from an east coast winter. Grass is thin throughout and non existent on most tee boxes. All around the greens is basically hitting off of mud *ON ALL HOLES* The sand traps were actually is phenomenal condition compared to everything else. I'll give it a few weeks before trying to play here again.
The course was in great condition considering the heavy rains. The staff was friendly and very accommodating and although there were " soft" areas in the fairway, the course played 90° which allowed for a nice pace.
Under drier conditions, this cours would be my go to course. Staff is really friendly and helpful.
