Beautiful course, but snobby fellow golfers

Absolutely outstanding on its own merits, but unfortunately seems to have a bad case of elitist minded golfers who resent commoners using "their" course. How DARE anyone w a handicap over 20 play on their course, and muck up their round by occasionally making them (gasp!!) Wait for a moment? The staff and everything else about the course is utterly top shelf, but be prepared to be accosted by Serious Golfers.

At the right price a good course

There are other good courses in the area at decent prices. At the regular green fee rates, we would not go near this course. An easy walk and considering how wet it has been, the greens were pretty good. With a 4some in carts ahead of us, cart paths only, the pace was a tad slow. Will play gain at the right price.

Nice even when wet

It's a very beautiful course. Well maintained, challenging greens, nice fluffy sand, a definite must play if you're in the area. We played on a day that was a bit wet, and I was happy to see that the course drained very well. No tromping around in mud.

Sweet sister

Semiahmoo, paired with Loomis Trail, is one of two wonderful sister courses located minutes from the Canadian border. Semiahmoo has more houses bordering the fairways but they are not at all intrusive and the size of the intermixed trees is impressive. For the average golfer I find Semiahmoo to be a little more playable than Loomis simply because there are fewer places to get in trouble.. See if you can pick a favorite between them. I can't.

A good walk unspoiled

The Semiahmoo Golf and C.C. has more of a members-course feel than a resort course. It
roams through a neighborhood at times and is perfectly walkable for those who despise cart golf.
Plenty of natural scenery, like the views of the snow-capped Mount Baker on the fourth hole, accompany players throughout their round.
Arnold Palmer's slope-riddled greens keep golfers on the defensive. The best stretch comes near a pond on the 11th hole, a short par 4 that measures 343 yards from the members' tees. The 155-yard 12th hole plays over the same hazard to a narrow green.
