Double Booked Tee Time
Every time we’ve played here this summer (4-5 times) tee times have been double booked. I’ve even contacted the pro shop to confirm the GolfNow times. My two groups ended up having to go off the back, but couldn’t complete the round when the turn to the front was too stacked up. While the pro shop acknowledged that “there’s a problem with the system”,, they were unaccommodating when it can to resolving the mess. Bad experience for my two groups & handled poorly be the staff. A full refund would have been appropriate.
Almost heaven
This may be the most beautiful course we play here in the greater Portland area. Conditions were great but the greens are challenging. Wish we could play here more often so we'd know the holes better but at about an hour away we only get here once or twice a year. The restaurant was closed and not everyone wore masks.
UNSAFE
The course layout is good, some great views. Greens are good.
The 1 Star rating is because the Management does NOT care about their Customers. They do not wear masks. Which means they do not care if they give you COVID.
Great Course, Great Price, Fun Day
My son and I played the course and had a great day of golf to go along with really nice weather.
Great scenery
We got a great deal on Golfnow that included a cart. Course is in great shape and one of the most scenic courses around.
Beautiful setting
Every holes has view of the majestic Columbia gorge, and you can just tell the great care and feeding of the golf course, tidy fairways and smooth greens. Highly recommended and I can’t wait to come back (shot 90 but knowing I could do a lot better). BTW, I was late half hour on a Hot Deal teetime but no problem with getting a new teetime with no additional charge or waiting, I really appreciated that.
Spectacular!
Beautiful setting with a well designed layout. Course official was friendly and accommodating, great way to spend the day despite the windy weather. We’ll be back for more!
Two areas for improvement:
1)more bathroom Facilities along the course and
2)pull carts that are more stable. My partner’s rented cart toppled over about 7-8 times with flat surfaces and wind.
Always an enjoyable round
Great course and was easy to work with staff. Snack cart always around and easy to check in and get out and play. Seems like a lot of new people working on the staff which wasn’t a bad thing. Worth driving from Vancouver for an hour versus playing closer by or heading to Oregon for a shorter trip. The views are amazing and the greens are as challenging as always. Great experience even on a busy Father’s Day. Will never stop playing this course! Well done.
Hidden Gem, But SLOW PLAY
The layout, course conditions, views make this course a Hidden Gem. However - here are the "downers":
Slow Play - most likely by the locals that have a very slow pace.
The Greens have LOTS of curves and turns (almost Mickey Mouse in places), which make putting very challenging/difficult - but rewarding when the very rare putt occurs.
Little to no stuff on course, but that is most likely due to the COVID restrictions. Speaking of COVID - they could (or should) do a better job of prevention techniques.
Elk Ridge Golf Course
This course is the hidden gem of the Columbia River Gorge.
It is a little east of the beautiful Skamania Lodge and the town of Stevenson in the little town of Carson.
It has a new owner and the course has great drainage for winter play and is well taken care of.
It would be hard to find a more beautiful setting to play golf!
Not a very long course, but quite challenging with undulating greens.
Very impressed with the new staff and restaurant!
