WGC Golf Course
About
WGC Golf Course in Xenia is consistently voted as the top course in Greene County. The course originally opened as a nine-hole course in the mid 1920s. The traditional layout was designed by Jack Kidwell, a well known name in Ohio golf. The course was later expanded to a full 18 holes with Michael Hurzdan overseeing the new addition. The layout is both challenging and player-friendly thanks to five sets of diverse tees, including "family tees," which are designed for younger or less experienced golfers. The tees give them the option of playing a shorter golf course but will keep them interested with several opportunities to score. From the tips, the course is a formidable test for more advanced players. WGC Golf Course also boasts one of the Miami Valley's best practice facilities with a driving range that has three mounded target greens and two practice greens for putting and chipping.

Nice day of golf
Being able to get a round of golf in during this virus is good. The course is in good shape. We play there 3 or 4 times a year.
Course was absolutely beautiful despite the rain the previous week. Grass was very green and greens were in great condition compared to other local courses. Staff was very friendly. The general manager was very nice and outgoing as was the college aged cashier. Carts were clean and ready when we arrived. Food was excellent. We called on number 8 and picked up burgers at the turn. They also deliver on the course. Range was wide open and with three nice target greens and a nice fairway. The layout was beautiful, with lots of rolling hills and a few tricky ponds. I would definitely recommend to all ages and skill levels. Price was very much worth it.
Extremely poor conditions!
The extremely poor conditions of the course made it nearly unplayable.
OK course but alittle overpriced
Played WGC yesterday with some friends. We're all seniors. Apparently the senior rate is $29 year round while other players pay significantly more ($45 +-). Non-seniors pay less for fall rates; would be nice if senior rate was lowered at least a couple dollars. Overall the course was in very good shape. Fairways were wide. Rough was fairly short although balls tended to nestle into the rough which could make it difficult to find if you missed the fairway. Leaves weren't an issue. Some water and some sand. Staff was friendly. Clubhouse was okay. Carts were nice and clean. Many holes fairly short from the forward tees. I'm not a bomber but was able to hit mid to high irons into the greens on several par 4s. Some of the holes had interesting designs. Greens were good size. Some greens rolled faster then others and we had some trouble judging speed of putts. Could have been just our lack of experience playing the course. I'd play there again as overall experience was very positive.
Not worth the Price
7:45 Tee time and the club house was not open when we arrived. Only one person showed up. He did a good job checking every one in and collecting our $45 to play but there was no one to get carts out of locked cart barn. So we started late and backed up.
As for course Generally in good condition the Greens were in Great shape but there were several bunkers that were unplayable and the fairways just Fescue.
Bottom line this is not a $45 course. There are many other courses in the area much nicer for the same price.
My New Favorite Course
I loved this course. It was in great shape in spite of the excessive rain recently and my husband and I had a wonderful day out; not to mention the nice advantage for the ladies on most holes, beautiful fairways, greens and flowers. A bit of nostalgia for me as my dad, now 87, was a great golfer and played this course regularly. He is still in great health and I might have to bring him to the course for the memories! We'll definitely be back!
Very nice course
This is a very good course and offers a good experience for every level of golfer! Greens and fairways are in great condition.
