Located just a few minutes north of Olympia, the Golf Club at Hawk's Prairie is one of the South Sound's most popular golf destinations. The club has two 18-hole courses, each with a completely different layout. You can choose between the classic Scottish design of the Links Course or the Woodlands Course with its idyllic landscape of dense, old growth forest. The Woodlands is what you would expect from a Pacific Northwest golf course, with sprawling fairways that snake through towering trees and large, multi-tiered greens. Ponds and wetlands come into play throughout and there are strategically placed bunkers protecting most of the greens. In addition to offering both a challenging and scenic round, the course was also ranked as one of the Top 75 Most Affordable Golf Courses by Golf Digest.

Lots of challenge
This course has plenty of elevation changes to keep you on your toes. A couple of long par 4’s play into the wind for extra measure.
Course has lots of challenges
First time playing this course. Narrower fairways and lots of trees. Greens were fast and ran true. Totally different course than the Prairie course.
Merriwood. Hawks prarire. Oki.
Whatever you want to call it, these ore two great courses. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. These courses,l are both challenging ,forgiving and a great value.
Challenging layout - terrific greens
Enjoyed playing this somewhat challenging course - which required strategic layups and shot making .
Would love to play it again to see if I can do better .
Fairways were a bit beatup in places - but greens were fantastic - smooth and quick.
Pace of play was bit slow - there was a 5 -some in front - but they us play through after a few holes.
Would love to go back and play again.
Not impressed a bit let down
I have golfed this course a few times in the past and it has always been in great shape and very playable. Not this time. It was very dry in many places but would also have places that were literally soaking wet with standing water. Made it very difficult to know how to play a shot because the bounces were so inconsistent. Greens were in pretty good shape! But starting to get a fungus on some. I was pretty disappointed based on passed experience here and expectations.
Fun in the Woods
This.track always draws me back, had a good day with family. Greens were great, fairways lush and wildlife!
Good but not great
Pace and architecture is a good set up form parking to the two courses and clubhouse. Greens ran very fast and approaches were difficult to hold the greens. Rough had some real patchiness. Definitely needed to be thatched in late spring. Result- fluff that was difficult to play standard club out of. Dry spots were also less forgiving and like hitting from concrete. This used to be my home course 10 years ago and lots of houses everywhere around this course now that are less nature aspects.
Great pro shop staff
Staff made us feel welcomed and the course is in good shape except for broken cart paths and water lines that need fixing.
First time playing and GPS took us through neighborhoods instead of to the clubhouse and as a first timer there were a couple of holes that weren't clearly marked. That is the only bad thing I can say about the course. Challenging course, well maintained and the staff was extremely helpful!
Needs maintanace
has potential but poor condition, seems like their short on funds.
Woodlands
This was my first time playing this 18 as I've played the links 18 a few times.
I really liked this course, it made you think! Many par 4's you need to hit less than driver, the greens were perfect fast and smooth. My only complaint was the amount of construction going on around the back nine (noise)
I will definitely be playing here this summer

Nice Experience
Played the Woodlands course for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thought the course was really interesting with many memorable holes. From the white tees the course was challenging, fairly narrow and was a good test.
Greens were exceptional and fairways were OK. Will look forward to playing the woodlands again.
Woodlands Fun!
Seldom do I get to Lacey, but wanted to play Woodlands. Was pleasantly surprised at the course. Especially the greens. They were awesome! With all the development going on around them and the number of trees taken out I wasn't prepared to enjoy my round. Plus they had a couple events going on at Other course. Got paired w/a local who gave me some of his course knowledge which I appreciated. Aside from some minor maintenance issues...rocks in bunkers, dry spots on fairways I had fun.

I love this course. Even though it built up around the course you feel the open space.
